Ryan's December School Art

3K Lumen Christi Catholic School - We are completing more and more things by ourselves. I wrote Merry Christmas all by myself with no help from anyone!

Lily's December School Art

3K Lumen Christi Catholic School - It is fun to watch us become little artists. Our handwriting is improving as you can see by the Merry Christmas. We wrote this all by ourselves, and I only needed Mom to help me out a bit on the "M's". We are starting to cut much better too, cutting out whole projects by ourselves.

Christmas 2011

Every Christmas keeps getting better and better. After playing Santa the Superhero and putting out our milk and cookies, Lily quickly yelled good night and basically put herself to bed. I was quick to follow, and I heard Mom and Dad say that they wish it was Christmas every day. Better be careful what you wish for! We didn't wake up any earlier than usual, but as soon as I was up, I ran downstairs to see if Santa had come and sure enough he had. I was nice enough to run upstairs and let everyone else know before tearing into my gifts. Lily welcomed my good news with a "I don't want to talk to you." Guess that's what I get for waking her up, but it was for a good reason which she quickly realized. We soon all headed downstairs and the chaos began. Santa did well again this year getting us almost everything we wanted. He even managed to find me a Brachiosaurus and Lily her Sleeping Beauty movie. We almost made it through the morning unscathed as well, but I managed to step on the shovel I bought Lily and it flew up and hit her in the lip. One fat lip and cold fudge pop later we were good to go! After opening gifts and filling our bellies we headed up to Grandma Jackie's house to celebrate some more. I got cool orange Crocs and Lily got her Playful Pup which she appropriately named Wrigley. We had a blast hanging out with our cousins. Lily and Elizabeth managed to discover every little thing there was to know about Lily's new LeapPad while AJ and I hid in a closet to watch Cars2. Mom and Dad had to leave early to head to Lambeau Field for the Packer/Bears game. Dad left me alone to fend for myself amongst a sea of Packer fans, but I managed to hold my own even though the Packers won. We celebrated Grandma's birthday too with a giant brownie cake that was delicious! The magic of Christmas was definitely in full swing this year here in our world! Merry Christmas everyone!

"Hand"made gifts

This year for Christmas we made "hand"made gifts for Mom and Dad, that's mine on the left and Lily's is on the right. If you look closely you'll see that the tree is our hand print and the trunk is our thumbprint. We're getting pretty crafty here in our world!

Tired Little Pie

Mom and Dad treated us to a drive down Candy Cane Lane tonight to see all the Christmas Lights which resulted in us staying up past our bedtime. The result was one tired little Pie...so tired in fact she couldn't even make it to her bed.

Cookies and Carols

Today, Mom got to come to school with us for family day. Lots of Mommies and Daddies, Grandmas (but no Grandpas), and brothers and sisters joined in on the fun making for quite the packed house. We put on a little performance singing Five Little Snowmen and Jingle Bells complimented by some pretty spectacular dance moves. We decorated cookies and ate them of course because that's what we do best. I made an extra one just for my Pop Pops since no Grandpas made it today and I was missing my Pop Pops. I have it saved in a plastic bag just for him, and hopefully it is still good in a few weeks when we see him. We left the party with presents from our teachers and gifts we made for Mom and Dad to put under our tree. It doesn't look like we'll be dashing through any snow this Christmas, but we're enjoying everything else the holiday season has to offer here in our world!

We Are Marquette!

Pardon the blurry photography, but Daddy was behind the camera for this shot. Lily has been sick since Thursday and we've been locked in the house. I think Dad was feeling a bit sorry for me so on a whim he scored two tickets to the Marquette game. We had great seats and I was all decked out for the occasion in my Marquette shirt and socks. What else can I say but WE ARE (clap, clap) MARQUETTE!

Our First Christmas Concert

Tonight we had a very important job at our school's Christmas concert...hold up letters and look cute. Easy peasy as we like to say! Lily was the letter U and I was the letter E (backwards e to be exact) in the name Jesus. We didn't have to talk or sing or do anything crazy, just hold up our letters nice and high for all to read. Lily won the "high" contest holding her letter up higher than anyone else's, although mine was "super" high as well. What can I say, we take our jobs seriously here in our world!

C is for Cookie

One of our favorite holiday traditions is baking Christmas cookies with Mom. Mommy is responsible for mixing the dough (a recipe she got from Great-Grandma Giesler) and with a little help we are responsible for rolling it out and using as many cookie cutters as possible. This year Grandma Jackie got in on the action too buying sprinkles and candy dots for us to decorate with. Another bonus this year was that Daddy's clinic celebrated its' 2nd birthday the same week we decided to make cookies so Mom made a double batch which just meant more fun for us! It's the most wonderful time of the year here in our world!!!

Jolly Old St. Nick

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there, and guess what...HE CAME! I made sure to wake Mom up first thing this morning so we could check out my stocking. Lily apparently wasn't quite as excited as I was because she slept in for like the first time in her life. I didn't need her to open my stocking though so off Mom and I went. We got all sorts of fun stuff including our new Christmas pj's and some toys. Lily finally made an appearance and managed to get through her stocking before we headed off to school. Once there, we discovered that St. Nick had filled our classroom stockings too! We got a candy cane, an orange, and a gold coin which turned out to be chocolate. Yummy! We loved having St. Nick visit us we must have been good because there was no coal in our stockings this year!!!
