Somebunny Came to See Us

Hippity-Hoppity, the Easter Bunny hopped right down our hallway last night and into our bedrooms.  How do we know this?  Well, a certain somebunny left footprints behind so now we have proof.  I can't even begin to describe just how excited we were to find footprints...let's just say the footprints were way cooler then all of the good stuff also left behind in our baskets.  Don't think for one minute that we didn't enjoy the candy, toys, and clothes; but Easter Bunny footprints are amazing!  After following the footprints all over the house, we did finally manage to find our baskets; mine in our shower, and Lily's downstairs in the tub.  I was pretty excited with all of the Angry Birds stuff I received.  I actually picked it out of my basket immediately, and Mom and Dad had to send me back to the shower to get the rest of the basket.  Good thing too, because I would have missed out on my new stomp rocket and Perler beads.  Lily loved her new bike helmet, nail polish, and Barbie band aids as well.  After all of the mornings' excitement, we headed up to Grandma Jackie's for the annual Easter egg hunt.  This year's hunt was indoors due to the fact that there is still snow on the ground.  It didn't dampen our spirits though, and we managed to find all of our eggs along with a bucket of goodies for each of us.  This Easter was a hopping good time here in our world!

Lily's March School Art

Ryan's March School Art

March was "All About Me" at school.  We learned different ways to take care of our bodies, how to eat healthy, and we celebrated St. Patrick's Day and Easter.  We had a dentist and doctor come talk to our class, and some sneaky leprechauns kept messing up our classroom.  We finally caught them though and put an end to their shenanigans!

8 years is...

8 years is...

*252,460,800 hiccups (seconds)
*2922 sunsets
*417 Fridays
*96 slivers of a moon
*8 first days of Spring

That is a lot of hiccups, sunsets, Fridays, slivers of a moon, and first days of Spring that Grandpa Wayne has missed out on (not to mention the birth of the two most awesome twins ever).  The older we get the more questions we ask about who he was, what he did, and why he is gone.  The older we get the more we understand.  The one thing that has become clear over the last year is that Grandpa really hasn't missed out on all of those hiccups, sunsets, Fridays, slivers of a moon, and first days of Spring; he has been in our hearts with us the whole time experiencing everything right along with us.  He has seen Lily dance, hold her breath under water, and sing in the shower.  He has seen me hit a baseball, build a snowman, and begin to learn how to read.  He is with us in the backyard every time we hear the cardinal chirping, and we ask mom to call back to him just like Grandpa Wayne used to do.  I shared with Mom just the other day that even though we wish we could see him, touch him, and talk to him, it is going to be okay, because we know he is here in our hearts because he is OUR GRANDPA!

Easter Eggs

One of the best things about Easter is the fact that we get to play with dye and Easter eggs, two things which are usually off limits when it comes to play time in our world.  This year we got the all-in-one pack which came with cool cups for us to put the eggs in.  We also decided to change things up a bit, and we put tattoos on our eggs once they were dry.  I'm not sure what was more fun...dying the eggs, or giving them tattoos!

Marc's Party

Marc's 2nd birthday is just around the corner and today we headed down to Illinois to celebrate with the family.  We took the liberty of enjoying all things party related...hats, food, blowers, balloons, food, opening presents, ice cream, food, and cake.  Notice we mentioned food a few times...I think we each had two full meals at different times of course, as well as a multitude of snacks, ice cream, and cake (or make that two pieces of cake in my case).  Good thing there was a lot of running around and playing with all of Marc's new toys involved with this party, or we may have passed out from all the food we ate!  Happy birthday Marc!!!

Mikro Soccer

We've been begging to play soccer for awhile now, and an opportunity just presented itself that fit perfectly between our other activities.  We were so excited when Mom signed us up that we were counting down the days.  Tonight, we were able to stop counting and start playing.  We had so much fun running around, and we never shied away from the action.  Lily came home from day one with an egg on her head, and I lost my shoes a few times as I fell to the ground from either running too fast or running into another player.  Lily did score one goal, but unfortunately it was for the other team.  She was super fast though going the wrong way down the field and dodging players so we are proud of her nonetheless.  It was so awesome, that we have already started counting down again for our second lesson!!!
