Pumpkins

This years pumpkins thanks to Dad were a Pokeball from Pokemon and a dog. We scoured the internet looking for just the right thing to put on them this year and I think our choices fit us well!

Maxwell's Two Month Checkup

Max was all decked out for Halloween this year thanks to Gigi and Grandma (outfit and hat), and celebrated by going to the doctor for his two month checkup. Not my idea of fun, but he had no choice in the matter. He was all smiles before the appointment and everything checked out perfect. He came in at 11 pounds 6 ounces (23%), 23 inches tall(43%), and a head circumference in the 93% due to all of his brains! We were a bit off on the 13 pounds our scale estimated at home on Saturday, but he is still growing nicely and right on track to be a linebacker some day. He is also taller than I was at this age so who knows, he might just be bigger than me someday! After the appointment he had to receive his dreaded immunizations (3 shots and 1 drink) and then the smiles faded quickly. He took them like a champ, but he was rather cranky and tired for the rest of the day. Mom never even got official Halloween pictures he was so tired. He heads back in 2 months to do it all again so we'll check back in then!

Trick-Or-Treat

We had so much fun trick-or-treating this year being that it fell on our birthday! We picked out our costumes and I was pretty excited to go as Kai from Lego Ninjago and Lily couldn't wait to be a Tootsie Roll. She even brought along Tootsie Rolls and handed them out to the people giving us candy! We got together with some neighborhood kids and a few friends from school and took over Wyngate Trace running from house to house. Max even joined in on the fun dressing as Superman, or as we liked to call him SuperMax! This year, one of the neighbors made their home into a haunted house that was no joke. I wasn't quite brave enough to venture inside, but Lily went through twice! Being that we only hit one neighborhood we scored enough candy to last us quite awhile. Now it is time to start planning for next year!

Spooktacular Birthday

Today was a very big day as Lily and I celebrated the big 9 and we got to go trick-or-treating! It is almost as if Halloween was created just for us! Before the celebrations could begin though we needed to take care of some very important business, carving pumpkins. Grandma made sure to get us our balloons as well and Mom made us some spooky Halloween cakes, a pumpkin for Lily and a spider web for me. She even made a cake for our friend, Maggie, since it is her birthday tomorrow and we celebrated all of our birthdays together at her house. It was a spooktacular day!!!

Maxwell - Two Months

Max has grown by leaps and bounds this past month! Today's photo shoot was interrupted by a little blow-out which resulted in an outfit change halfway through, but Max took it all in stride which is very much so the story of his life. His favorite past time is still sleeping, but he is awake much more and his big eyes are often seen just scanning his surroundings. His big milestone this month was smiling and he will now do it almost every time we strike up a conversation with him. He makes all sorts of crazy noises too and it is fun guessing what he is trying to say. He has some new favorites this month with eating still being at the top of his list. He really enjoys bath time too, and could probably sit in his tub for hours as long as the water stays warm. Mom gets to take Max for his two month check up on Monday so we'll get official measurements then, but we know he is growing up fast and becoming that little man we always refer to him as.

AJ's Birthday

We made a quick day trip up to Green Bay today to celebrate AJ's birthday. Max was able to meet a bit more of his family, although he slept through most of it including when we sang Happy Birthday. That kid can sleep through everything!

Look at Those Legs

I took my first sewing class today at Sew What Design Studio and look at the oh so comfortable leggings I whipped up. I must say I did a pretty spectacular job!

The Bear

This bear keeps showing up at Costco every year and I'm not sure if it is getting smaller, or I am getting bigger?!?!

Chicks Dig Me

Yet another play date with another lady for Maxwell. This date involved a stroll to a local coffee shop with the Mommies, and what can I say, but I think Margo was in love with Max!

Go Cubs Go

With "something" that hasn't occured in almost 108 years potentially coming up we felt the need to be a part of what would go down in the history books. That "something" is the last time the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. This may just be the year so tonight we headed down to Game 2 of the National League Championship Series between our Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers. We made a pit stop along the way stopping in to visit Great Grandpa and Great Grandma where we of course played dominoes. Pop Pops and I crushed Lily and Great-Grandma which left quite a sour taste in Lily's mouth. After our battle, we left Max in the hands of Gigi and Pop Pops and headed back to Chicago. Once back in the city, we took our first ride on the subway which was fascinating. It dropped us off right in front of Wrigley Field and we quickly headed inside. The Cubs ended up losing 1-0, but Lily and I managed to enjoy ourselves eating peanuts and ice cream which made the trip well worth it! Now the Cubs need to rally and take 3 of the next 5 to make it to the World Series so we can say we witnessed history! Go Cubs go!!!
