Rainy Halloween

The weather this year was not very cooperative for trick-or-treating. You'd think Mother Nature could have been a bit nicer to us on our actual birthday. I think most kids stayed home, but we (Lily as Tiana and I as Lightning McQueen) decided to bundle up and brave the conditions for some yummy candy! We headed over to the Goggin's house just like last year, but unlike last year there were no good photo ops due to weather. The dads were in charge of wagons, and Mom tried her best to get any photos she could. The one good thing about the rain was that the few houses we did stop at pretty much emptied their candy bowls into our buckets because no one else was as crazy as us. We only stopped at like 5 houses and our buckets were more than halfway filled. We has a blast despite being soggy and cold, and we're so glad Mom and Dad are crazy just like us! Happy Halloween everyone!

Our Birthday Party

Today, we celebrated our 4th birthday with family and friends. This year's theme was princesses and Lightning McQueen (Sleeping Beauty Ballerina Princess to be exact). Being that we're older now we figured we could help out a bit in regards to the party itself. We helped Mom decorate our cakes, we helped Grandma Jackie make the fruit salad, and we helped ourselves to all the food our little tummies could hold. We received our standard birthday balloons from Grandma along with lots of other cool presents! We enjoyed playing with our cousins and reminiscing about the good old days. The words "Remember a long time ago when we were three" came out of our mouths more than once during the day. It was quite a day and I think Lily summed it up well when she told Mom "It was everything she dreamed of!"

The Princess and the Race Car

Since there is no school tomorrow we got to celebrate two things today...our birthdays and Halloween. No one was quite sure what to expect for our big birthday celebration today since we are the oldest in our class, thus this is the first party of the year. How cool that everyone got to dress up in costumes for the big day, even though it wasn't necessarily for us. What was for us though were the cool birthday crowns from our teachers (in our favorite colors too) that we got to wear all day, Mom and Dad bringing in birthday cupcakes to share with our class, and each of us standing on our chair (we were informed that this is only allowed for birthdays) so that the class could sing us Happy Birthday! We were pretty quiet while everyone sang, but chimed right back in once our turn was done. I went first since I'm the oldest, and I think Lily was grateful for this. After all of the fun we lined up for the Halloween parade. It was supposed to be outside, hence the picture of us all bundled up, but they decided to have it indoors due to the cold and rain. We loved it nonetheless, and Tiana and Lightning McQueen got lots of practice yelling Happy Halloween!

So Cool

My little piggies were starting to hang off the end of my toddler bed so tonight with the help of Mom and Dad I made the switch to a "cool" bed. I helped Dad with all of the screws while still making time for some dress up and drum playing. Once it was all put together my "cool" bedding that I picked out finally got put to good use. Lily was pretty quiet during all of the fun so I invited her to sleep with me tonight so we could try out my new digs which put a huge smile on her face. There is only one word to describe it all..."COOL!"

Growing Up in Wisconsin

One of the best things about growing up in Wisconsin is Fall. We're a few days late on the post, but we've been in our house two years now this month and we just love coming outside to take this yearly picture. It is hard to beat the orange, yellow, and red leaves; and the fact that once raked into a pile they are perfect to jump in over and over again. We also used our little imaginations and pretended we were fishing in the leaves with sticks and roasting marshmallows to make smores! The possibilities are endless when given a pile of leaves here in our world!
