Feeling Good

Today we felt well enough to have our friend, Jack, over again to play. It seems like forever since we've seen any of our friends. We surprised Jack by having 6 deer appear on the hill next to our house...might as well go big right?!? It is a good thing to be feeling better in our world!

Still Under the Weather

We're still feeling a bit under the weather, but at least now we are having a little bit of fun
while being sick. All that remains are coughs and runny noses, but we are eating and sleeping better, and overall feeling much better. Today we occupied our time by doing multiple activities, but building Mom a house and dancing in the kitchen were the most entertaining. We also modeled our new pajamas and showed off how we look when we are surprised and angry. We're taking it a day at a time in our world.

Jello Jigglers

We are on Day 7 of croup, and still feeling pretty miserable. Today Mom and Grandma Jackie tried to bring some excitement into our day by letting us make Jello Jigglers. Just like when we made Christmas cookies, Lily used all of the cookie cutters, and I stuck to my choo-choo trains. I didn't hesitate when it came to eating all of the shapes though. We had fun, runny noses and all!

We're Off to See the Doctor

After another rough night, Mom took us to see Dr. Hagerman today. Lily is always the cooperative one so she got checked out first. When my turn came around I explained to Dr. Hagerman, while sticking my hands over my ears, "no look at ears and no say ah." It didn't seem to matter what I said though because he looked at my ears and my throat anyway. After a thorough check-up we both officially got diagnosed with croup and had to swallow some yucky medicine to help open up our airways. They gave us an apple juice chaser too, which Lily enjoyed, but I was too mad at the doctor to drink mine. The doctor explained to Mom that our croup was most likely caused by the adenovirus going around right now since we have higher fevers and our eyes are involved too. This means we may have coughs for awhile yet, but hopefully everything else will start to feel better soon. Wish us luck!

Croup Visits Again

After three rounds of croup between the two of us last winter in Arizona, croup has decided to visit us in Wisconsin. Lucky us. It started Thursday night after I spiked a high fever. Lily then started barking like a seal last night and the fever came today. I haven't been sick often in my two short years of existence so I'm not dealing with this all so well. Dad has referred to me as an animal on more than one occasion in the past few days, but hopefully it will all be over soon.

Extended Weekend

We had a busy last few days. We discovered a new pet pony (aka Dad) in our house and our friends Owen, Kyra, and Will, had a sleepover at our house Saturday night. We decided we didn't want the fun to end so we headed up to Green Bay on Monday to see our cousins. There we escaped sharks and whales by hanging out on our sailboat, we played Cookie Monster (a complex game of chase created by Bubba and AJ), and I had breakfast with Thomas the Train. We are exhausted after four long days of fun, but we're not complaining here in our world!

Potty Update #3

It's a big day in our house when Mom jumps up and down and there are knuckles and high fives all around. This occurred today due to an amazing feat performed by yours truly. I decided all on my own to take a pit stop in the bathroom and I went potty on my potty chair. All of this was happening while Lily was going potty on her bedroom floor, but when I came running in to tell Mom what I had done the whole room turned to cheers. If you remember, I have only gone poopy on the potty chair once before, and that was kind of by accident. I have sat on the potty chair before, but never with any true intent on going, but today for some reason I just decided I was ready. Lily and I tried to reenact the event for the camera, but as you can see from the photo we didn't really capture the true excitement. Mom said she is going to officially start trying to train Lily soon, and who knows, maybe I'll get in on the action as well. Here's to hoping there will be no more diapers in our world very soon!

Snow Day

We had a snow day this afternoon although technically we never had anywhere to go so I'm not sure it counts as a snow day. Whatever it was we had fun. We only got about 4 inches so far, but they are predicting another 3 to 7 so maybe we'll get to do it all over again tomorrow. The only complaint we have is how long it takes to get outside. After putting on snow pants, mittens, hats, boots, and jackets, Lily decided that she had to sit on the potty, and she swore she had to go so off everything came and then...nothing. Mom wasn't very happy, but she bundled Lily up again and off we went. We got to break in our new sleds and we helped Mom shovel a bit. We leaving the rest for dad to plow. I preferred digging my way through the snow and chasing Wrigley around while Lily played it safe and stayed in the shoveled out areas. This is due to the fact that she tends to have trouble getting up if she falls due to the amount of clothing we have on. We tried making snow angels and made it onto our backs, but the snow kept falling on our faces and we weren't very keen on that. After over an hour outside we headed back indoors to enjoy some hot chocolate and warm our cheeks up. We love snow days in our world!

Happy New Year!

We really didn't ring in 2010 like most people considering we were sleeping by 7:30, but we did make up for it on New Year's Day by having some people over to the house for homemade pizzas. Our friends the Kaisers brought us new hats in Marquette colors of course, and we got to meet another new friend, Jayden, and his parents. You can't beat good friends and good food in our world!
