The Rivero Twins

Mommy's college roommate had twins on February 28th, and there must have been something in the water at Marquette because their story is very similar to ours. George and Alyssa are obviously boy/girl twins, just like us. They were born at 36 weeks 1 day, just like us. They were born via c-section, just like us. They were 5 lbs. 7 ozs. and 5 lbs. 9 ozs. (we were close at 5 lbs. 2 ozs. and 6 lbs. 1 1/2 ozs.) The only differences are that Alyssa beat George by one minute and I beat Lily by one minute, and their last name ends in an "o" and ours ends in an "a". Weird! We're pretty excited that they are finally here because now we have someone to teach all of our secrets to, and trust us we have lots of secrets.

Today was mommy and daddy's anniversary and since they spent the entire week running around like crazy people, they decided to relax and spend the day with us. After our morning nap we went swimming for the first time this year. We got to wear our new swimsuits and I must say we look pretty good. We weren't quite ready to go all the way in since it's been awhile since we swam, but we enjoyed sitting on the edge and putting our legs in. In the afternoon we headed over to our friends, the Eckert's house. Lily chilled on the hammock while I threw the baseball around and checked out the kids in the park. We grilled out for dinner and then headed home for a nice bath and bedtime story. What a great relaxing day.

A Day Of Birthdays

We'll start off by wishing our cousin, Ben, a very happy 10th birthday. We couldn't celebrate with him since he lives in Wisconsin, but next year, we're there! Our first bash of the day was Braden's first birthday party. He turned one today as well, and had a monkey themed party...how did he know we love monkeys?!?

After a quick nap we then headed to Troy's house for his first birthday party. He turns one on the 25th. We didn't get any pictures there since mommy was chasing us around the entire time, but mom caught one of Lily and him at Braden's party. They had tons of balloons to play with at his house and we were in heaven. Birthday parties are great just because we get to play with all sorts of new toys, and we always make tons of new friends.

Tortilla Flats

Today we drove into the Superstition Mountains and had lunch at Tortilla Flats. We tried prickly pear ice cream which we both thought was too cold to eat. Whose idea was it to make freezing cold food that gives you a headache????

Moving On Out

The last few days have been busy ones to say the least. Tuesday, Lily and I were busy telling daddy how to pack our cribs up, and Wrigley was trying to drive daddy's car. The packers came on Wednesday, and then the movers came today and took all of our stuff out of our house. I think mommy and daddy were happy someone else had to do all the work and they could just relax. Lily and I said night-night to the house on Tuesday, but we've adjusted okay because we are staying at Grandpa and Grandma Rivera's townhouse, and somehow all of our toys are here. We were so excited when Grandma Jackie opened the door the first time and we saw our slide, train, tractor, kitchen, etc. The townhouse has stairs too which we love, and we've been practicing going up and down...we're a little better at the up thing, but we're learning. Mom and dad did surprise us with a new cow tunnel this morning. They said they are just getting us ready for our new home in Wisconsin. The tunnel is a blast so Wisconsin must be a pretty fun place. Only 72 more days and we'll find out!

Game on! Lily was so sure the race was over, but I got two more teeth today and now I'm only behind by one. Take that Lily!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! We don't have a lick of Irish in us, but who cares, we don't need much of a reason to dress up and party! Today is our last day in our house, so we had to have our photo session early. This afternoon we officially move to the townhouse so I guess that is how we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

Shopping Is What We Do Best

This morning we went to Lakeshore Learning Store with mommy, Grandma Jackie, and Grandma Betty. We entered the store in our strollers, but as you can see we didn't stay in them very long. They had the biggest caterpillar there and it kept us entertained forever. We were so good that Grandma Jackie bought me a new puzzle and Lily a new book. We decided we should hang out there more often since they had so much cool stuff.

Hanging Out With The Grandmas

Grandma Jackie and Grandma Betty came into town February 25, and we've been having fun ever since. They've been helping us out because we are all busy getting ready to move. It hasn't been all work though; we've managed to squeeze in a few fun things and they'll be here for almost two more weeks so I bet we get to do a few more things too. Of course Grandma Jackie is famous for taking lots of pictures so we thought we'd share a few of the thousands she's taken since she got here. Enjoy!

A Duck Says Quack Quack

Mommy, Grandma Jackie, and Grandma Betty took us to Freestone Park today in Gilbert to have a picnic and feed the ducks. Lily made sure we fed all of the ducks and she chased them up the hill to the pond. It was so much fun seeing all of the different ducks, and I was able to practice my throwing skills. Hopefully we can go again really soon because otherwise those ducks might get hungry!

Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium

Mommy and daddy signed the closing paperwork on our house this morning, and then afterwards we headed to the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium in Litchfield Park, Arizona. It was a long drive, but it was well worth it. We saw all sorts of animals up close like zebras, rhinoceros, camels, flamingos, monkeys, birds, alligators, seahorses, sharks, and turtles. We even got to feed the giraffes. They sure do have long, purple tongues! There was a petting zoo there too and we fed the goats and deer. A goat tried to eat mommy and Grandma Jackie too, but he didn't succeed. Thank goodness. After a long day we were exhausted and slept the entire drive home.
