2 Months Old

We are 2 months old today! Mom and dad said time is flying by too fast, but they enjoy watching us grow up too. We are now bigger than the cabbage patch dolls (refer to November 4 post). Lily is officially out of all preemie clothes, and she is almost too big for some of her newborn PJs. I am now wearing mostly 0-3 clothes since I'm so long and lean. My big milestone for the month was rolling over at 5 weeks, and I haven't stopped since. Lily is gaining some interest in this skill as well, but she doesn't understand that she has to pull her arm underneath her for it to work. I can't tell you how many times she gets her lower body over, but her shoulders and head just won't go. Mom and dad said her cheeks are holding her down, but it is obviously her arm. Another big accomplishment for both of us is that we are sleeping for longer periods now since we are eating more. For some reason mom and dad seem to be so happy about this?!?! We are also starting to smile some, but we still only do this for special occasions.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! We thought we'd share a few photos from our exciting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations. We spent Christmas Eve with our friends at Uncle Larry and Aunt Pam's house. This morning we opened presents from Santa, our mom and dad, our grandparents, our cousins, and other family and friends. As you can see we received lots of cool stuff to wear and play with, and we got a few ornaments to decorate our tree with. A HUGE thank you to everyone for all of our gifts! Other than that we relaxed in our cool PJs from Great-Grandma Ruiz (thanks!) while mom and dad had breakfast. We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and mom and dad want us to tell everyone to stay warm!

Visiting Santa

Mom took Lily and I to visit Santa today with our friends, Donna and Landen Tow. Thank goodness she got a picture of us with him, because we both slept through the whole thing. Santa was able to figure out what we want for Christmas though, and he let mom know that I want an Xbox and Lily wants a cellphone.

Decorating the Tree

We discovered the best thing about Christmas so far, lights!!! We absolutely love Christmas lights, and mommy and daddy provided us with quite a show while decorating our Christmas tree. Mom and dad said that we were so in love with Christmas lights that they are thinking of decorating our crib just to entertain us. Too bad they won't actually do it.

Ryan Rolls Over!

I performed a spectacular feat tonight! During tummy time with mom, I without warning, rolled over! Mom was the only one who saw it, so of course I had to perform my trick again for dad and grandma. It took some effort, but I did it all by myself 3 or 4 times. Dad tried to get Lily to roll over too, but I think she was either too hungry or tired to care. Now that I have that milestone checked off, watch out world, here comes trouble!

Out for Dinner

We had another outing tonight to have dinner at mom and dad's friends' house...or as we call them Uncle Larry and Aunt Pam. We also got to meet their dogs, Ruby and Shera, for the first time. We think Ruby really liked us, although it was hard for her to understand that we aren't big enough to play yet.

Visitors

We haven't had too many visitors at home yet, but when we do mommy likes to get our picture with them. We'll continue to add pictures as more and more people come to visit us.

1 Month Old

We are one month old today! Happy birthday to us, and Uncle Steve (since we can't forget about family). How fast time flies when you are eating, sleeping, and pooping. We decided to have a little photo shoot with mom and grandma, but I put an end to it when I decided to try and eat Lily. What can I say, it was time to eat.

As for our first month it was pretty uneventful. We are both getting big with Lily finally graduating to newborn diapers and pajamas, and I am starting to wear some of my 0-3 clothes. We are slowly getting on a schedule, although I must say I'm cooperating a little quicker than Lily. Mom and dad are grateful for that, but they said they'd keep us both.
Good thing because I think the 30 day return period is up.

Happy Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving day with the Rivero's and Grandma Williams. From what we heard everyone ate too much, but dad was nice and saved us some leftovers. The day was fairly uneventful, and as you can see we spent much of the day sleeping. Dad and Larry left early to go to the ASU game, and mom and Pam took us for a nice long walk to work off all of the calories.

3 Weeks Old

We are 3 weeks old today! Mom and dad made us get up really early for our 2 week well baby check-up with Dr. Mike today. He said our tickers were working great, and we are now both on the charts for growth. Since I'm still bigger let me tell you our stats. Lily weighed in at 6 pounds 4 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. She gained 1 pound 2 ounces in 2 weeks thanks to all of the eating she does. I was 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long. I'm obviously doing a little bit of eating myself having gained 1 pound 3 ounces in 2 weeks, but I'd say sleeping is still my favorite thing to do. We didn't take any exciting pictures, but we attached some that show us all bundled up to go to the doctor. It was a cool 57 degrees when we left this morning, and in Arizona that is considered cold!

Our Favorite Pastime

Our favorite thing to do is SLEEP. It doesn't matter where we are, although if someone is holding us it is pretty comfortable...if you can't tell from the pictures. Feel free to stop over and we'll show you how it is done.

Wrigley

Here we are sleeping with our furry brother, Wrigley. He is still a little unsure about us, but we think he is quickly learning that we are here to stay. He tries to give us his duck or ball to play with, but we are still a little too small to play fetch with him. He'll love us when we get bigger though and we can play with him all of the time.

Our First Outing

Mom, dad, and Grandma Williams took us on our first outing to Discovery Park in Gilbert. We walked around the lakes and saw lots of ducks. Hopefully we'll get to go on more outings soon!

Our Family

The Rivera Family
Luis, Michelle, Ryan, Lily, and Wrigley Rivera

The Rivera Family

Here is the updated Rivera family photo. Wrigley even made his way into some of the pictures since technically he was mommy and daddy's first kid.

4 Generations

Here we all are - 4 generations strong - Great-Grandma Ruiz, Grandma Rivera, daddy, and us.

Grandpa and Grandma Rivera

We were also able to meet our Grandpa and Grandma Rivera. We are grandbabies #1 and #2 for them so they are a little rusty...grandma needed a lesson from daddy on how to change our diapers. She learns quickly though. We loved all of the hugs and kisses and are looking forward to spending the entire week with them.

Great-Grandma Ruiz

This weekend we got to meet our Great-Grandma Ruiz. She flew here all the way from Illinois to meet us. She loved hanging out with us, and we found out she changes diapers and gives baths! Daddy said he has never seen her smile so much in her life.
