Gingerbread Houses

Every year our creations get better and better, and our individuality shines through. With a little assistance from Ginger, Maxwell pulled off quite the gingerbread house.  To his credit he worked hard for almost 30 minutes, although a lot of the effort may have involved feeding himself all of the candy. Lily's house came complete with Christmas lights, and I delivered Santa climbing down the chimney. Three pats on the back for a job well done!

Chicago Fun

We closed out our Thanksgiving weekend by spending a few days at the Trump in Chicago. We took in giant meatballs at Carmine's, surullitos at La Bomba, the official Chicago Christmas Tree, the Bean, shopping on Michigan Avenue, and of course Maxwell took a dip in the world's largest bathtub (always a favorite of his when we head to Chicago). It was a fun way to end the weekend and kickoff the countdown to Christmas!

Turkey Day

We have a lot to be thankful for this year, and it was wonderful that everyone was healthy enough to make it to Titi Maria's and Uncle Angel's house for Thanksgiving. We feasted on turkey and ham, rice and beans, and even birthday cake! Family and good food definitely made it a Turkey Day to remember!

Christmas with Gigi and Pop Pops

We celebrated Christmas with Gigi and Pop Pops the night before Thanksgiving. Between the train and all of Pop Pops coffee drinking antics Maxwell wore himself out!

Babysitting Ginger

Mom and Dad escaped to Georgia for a few nights for Dad's work so we had to babysit Ginger while they were away. We took her to the zoo and to Discovery World where we're pretty sure she had fun.

Coco

Our friend, Mr. Skeleton, has affectionately become known as Coco thanks to Maxwell. He associates all skeletons with the movie, Coco, and apparently thinks that is what they are called. We've tried correcting him a thousand times, but to little avail. Maxwell was at first fearful of Coco when he first appeared on our porch for Halloween, but over time he has come to love him so much so that he is still sitting in our dining room instead of in his box with all of the other Halloween decorations that have been put away until next year. Make no bones about it, Maxwell and Coco are the best of friends.

Zoo Class - Cows

Zoo class today was all about the cows! Moo!

Terrible Twos???

The terrible twos, to be honest, have not been all that terrible. Maxwell's energy and sense of humor are contagious and keep us young. They also help us sleep really well at night.
