Halloween 2020

We all waited in angst as we were certain Trick or Treat would be canceled this year thanks to the never ending germs. We signed up for Trunk or Treat at the club because that at least gave us an option in the case it really did get canceled. With a full moon and warm temps, we turned out to be one of the lucky ones and not only did we go Trunk or Treating, but we got to go Trick or Treating too! Many communities around us did cancel, but Mequon kept the tradition alive with a few new rules. Most people left candy out on tables, kids were required to wear masks, and the numbers were definitely low, but we had fun. Lily's friend, Kallie, joined us this year because her city did cancel, and Max ended up hanging with his friends JJ and Rhys. It turned out to be a great Halloween when all was said and done!

Teenagers In the House

Say what...there are two teenagers in the house! Today we celebrated turning 13, an age Mom and Dad are both excited about and dreading. We celebrated with lots of phone calls and texts, some giant balloons, and a great dinner out at the club. No party this year due to Covid, but we definitely felt the love from near and far. After dinner we opened presents and I am confident in saying that Lily (and Max) loved The Comfy she got.

4 Year Checkup

Maxwell had his four year checkup today. This appointment was a bit different from years past. Mom had to phone when she arrived and then they called her back when they were ready. She and Max had to enter through the side door to avoid the waiting room with masks on. Their temperatures were taken upon entry and they were asked a series of questions. They obviously passed, because Max made it to the exam room. Here he came in at just over 37 pounds (62%) and 38.5" tall (13%). Everything else checked out great and hopefully he will not have to return until he turns 5. The only negative was upon arrival they found out that the dreaded 5 year old shots got bumped up to 4...that meant two shots in the upper arm which no one ever enjoys.

Door County - Friday

Today we completed our puzzle, ate a delicious breakfast at Al Johnson's, where the goats were proudly sitting up on the roof, and then we shopped! Everywhere we went Max seemed to fine time for play as well. While we are away, Harley is having fun at the kennel!

Door County - Thursday

AJ joined us today in Door County! After our plans to rent a boat fell through due to winds, we decided to make the best of it and head to a few of our favorite spots. We started at Sister Bay beach and then headed over to Cave Point where even I jumped this year! We were popsicles after a few jumps so we decided to head home for a bit to warm up. As soon as we were warm though we were ready to go and we headed over to Not Yet Licked for some burgers and ice cream of course!

Summer in the City

With both of us at camp it requires some strategic planning by Mom and Dad to make sure that we are all picked up and dropped off on time. Today Max and I went along for the drive to get Ryan. We arrived a bit early so we decided to take a stroll through the park while waited.

Last Few Months of Being Three

In his last few months of being 3 Maxwell has embraced our "new normal" of masks and social distancing and just enjoyed the time we've spent together as a family. He's been lovin' on Harley, naps, and snacking, and remains an expert on saying cheese.
