Rivera Christmas

We celebrated Christmas at Gigi's and Pop Pops' this morning enjoying two of our favorite things...food and presents! Every gift we opened earned an audible gasp as we loved each and every thing. We loved Marc's and Landon's presents too, and enjoyed playing with them (so much so that Marc and I were sweating like crazy)!

Thankful

We headed to Illinois for Thanksgiving again this year. We always enjoy hanging with our cousins, and this year was no different. Lily and Ava always enjoy their "girl time", while I was the head chicken this year...wherever I went Logan was right behind me with Carter bringing up the rear.

Father-Daughter Dance

A favorite thing of mine to do is put on a poofy dress and get all dolled up. Tonight this came true as Daddy and I attended our second annual father-daughter dance. We were joined yet again by my bestie and her dad. We enjoyed dinner and dancing and even got the dads on the floor for the Chicken Dance and Macarena. Oh what a night!

Day 5 - Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios

Day five was our last and final day at the parks. Today we hit Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We started with breakfast at Tusker House with Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. With record setting temps on this day we switched things up a bit going on rides and seeing some shows to get out of the heat. Our fast passes included the Kilimanjaro Safari, Dinosaur, and The Festival of the Lion King. We also managed to squeeze in another roller coaster, Expedition Everest, which ranked as Lily's #1 ride of the whole vacation. While exploring the Animal Kingdom we ran into two of our favorites, Dug and Russell from the movie Up, as well as Pocahontas. In the afternoon we journeyed to Hollywood Studios where I was on a mission to take in everything Star Wars! Unfortunately the junior Jedi training academy was closed, but the Star Tours ride helped me quickly forget this fact. It was awesome!!! After the ride Lily and I were able to build our own droids and then we were off to explore more of Hollywood Studios. We stumbled across Sorcerer Mickey who was hiding off the main path...he was so cool and we're so glad we just happened to run into him. We also meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody, Lightning McQueen and Mater, and Mike and Sully. Sully discovered it was our birthdays and had the whole crowd sing happy birthday to us which was mortifying, yet exciting at the same time. The evening brought with it more rides with Lily and Daddy braving Tower of Terror. While waiting for them a cast member surprised Mommy and I with a GIANT ice cream sundae telling us that Mickey Mouse wanted me to have a happy birthday and we looked like we could use some magic! Our last ride was the Rock n' Roller Coaster which actually went upside down. This was the one coaster Lily didn't care for as she felt like she was going to fall out every time we flipped. We all survived though so we'll call it a win! We ended the night walking through the Osbourne Lights which are in their final year at Hollywood Studios. It was a great way to say goodbye to Halloween and our amazing vacation, and welcome in the Christmas season even if it is almost two months away.

Day 6 brought with it lots of swimming, and after lunch we caught the Magical Express to head back to the airport. Looking back on the past 6 days it is amazing to believe that it all started with a mouse. Disney World, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom were all amazing in their own way and we LOVED each and every one of them. This was definitely an adventure we will never forget, and although it will be tough to beat we sure are willing to try. Like Ellie from Up would say " Thanks for the adventure. Now go have a new one!"

Day 4 - Epcot and Magic Kingdom

Day 4 we switched up our plans a bit to squeeze in a trip to Epcot. Here we split up since we each wanted to see different things. Ryan spent almost his entire morning at Test Track designing his own car and racing it. Mom and I headed over to see Nemo and friends and just happened to run into Chip and Dale on the way. After a quick lunch we jumped on the monorail and headed back over to the Magic Kingdom. Our fast passes included the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Splash Mountain. For dinner Mom and Dad planned a special treat for us at Cinderella's Royal Table in Cinderella's Castle. Here were visited with Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, and Rapunzel. This was by far Lily's favorite meal as she got to meet all of her idols in the flesh. Dinner also helped me recover as I was feeling a bit under the weather, and I was able to forge on making it to the Electrical Parade which was amazing. Upon arriving home we caught the Electrical Water Pageant off the dock at our resort. We also ran into a special guest, Peter Pan, who wished us happy birthday and reminded us "don't grow up too fast"! Today proved to us that Walt Disney was right - "If you can dream it, you can DO IT!"
