Day 5 - Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios

Day five was our last and final day at the parks. Today we hit Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We started with breakfast at Tusker House with Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. With record setting temps on this day we switched things up a bit going on rides and seeing some shows to get out of the heat. Our fast passes included the Kilimanjaro Safari, Dinosaur, and The Festival of the Lion King. We also managed to squeeze in another roller coaster, Expedition Everest, which ranked as Lily's #1 ride of the whole vacation. While exploring the Animal Kingdom we ran into two of our favorites, Dug and Russell from the movie Up, as well as Pocahontas. In the afternoon we journeyed to Hollywood Studios where I was on a mission to take in everything Star Wars! Unfortunately the junior Jedi training academy was closed, but the Star Tours ride helped me quickly forget this fact. It was awesome!!! After the ride Lily and I were able to build our own droids and then we were off to explore more of Hollywood Studios. We stumbled across Sorcerer Mickey who was hiding off the main path...he was so cool and we're so glad we just happened to run into him. We also meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody, Lightning McQueen and Mater, and Mike and Sully. Sully discovered it was our birthdays and had the whole crowd sing happy birthday to us which was mortifying, yet exciting at the same time. The evening brought with it more rides with Lily and Daddy braving Tower of Terror. While waiting for them a cast member surprised Mommy and I with a GIANT ice cream sundae telling us that Mickey Mouse wanted me to have a happy birthday and we looked like we could use some magic! Our last ride was the Rock n' Roller Coaster which actually went upside down. This was the one coaster Lily didn't care for as she felt like she was going to fall out every time we flipped. We all survived though so we'll call it a win! We ended the night walking through the Osbourne Lights which are in their final year at Hollywood Studios. It was a great way to say goodbye to Halloween and our amazing vacation, and welcome in the Christmas season even if it is almost two months away.

Day 6 brought with it lots of swimming, and after lunch we caught the Magical Express to head back to the airport. Looking back on the past 6 days it is amazing to believe that it all started with a mouse. Disney World, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom were all amazing in their own way and we LOVED each and every one of them. This was definitely an adventure we will never forget, and although it will be tough to beat we sure are willing to try. Like Ellie from Up would say " Thanks for the adventure. Now go have a new one!"
