Ryan's April Art

This month was yet another fun filled month filled with lots of art projects.  We started off with a week of monkeys, and wrapped it up with transportation.  We even had time to learn a bit about buried treasure in art class.  All of the hard work on the transportation unit earned us a drivers license too!  Too bad that license doesn't include real vehicles just yet.

"Budding" Artists

Almost overnight, Spring has found its' way to Wisconsin!  We went from wearing winter coats on Monday to shorts and t-shirts on Friday.  Daffodils, tulips, and crocus are budding all over our yard, and two little budding artists made an appearance today as well.  We broke out the sidewalk paint that I got for Christmas and used literally the entire driveway as our canvas.  We created jellies, hearts, fish, the sun, a hopscotch game, and a tic-tac-toe board just to name a few.  We also managed to break out every toy that has been sitting idle in our garage since probably October.  We heard tomorrow is supposed to be just as beautiful so I'm sure it will be much of the same to report here from our world!

King of the Hill

After a long hiatus, we finally managed to sneak away to the cottage for the weekend.  Most people choose to go somewhere warm in Spring (especially after the winter and spring we've had), but we chose to go somewhere with mounds of snow.  We enjoyed every minute of it making forts, going on a scavenger hunt,  throwing snowballs, and playing king of the hill.  We also managed to have a little fun in the warm confines of the cabin as well, with Grandma's ipad being on my short list of favorites.  Grandma surprised us with Lucky Charms cereal...impressive that she remembered since it feels like ages since we told her we loved them.  All in all it was a great adventure, but now we are ready for spring to make an appearance here in our world!

Rainy Day Fun

We definitely aren't going to let a little thing like rain...and rain, and rain, and MORE rain...keep us from having fun outside.  This week has been filled with so much rain that little lakes and streams have popped up all over our yard.  Being the little explorers that we are we put on our wellies and raincoats, put up our umbrellas, and headed outside to stomp around.  We were amazed by how deep some of the streams had become and loved watching our boots sink into the mud.  One lake that popped up behind our swing-set was so big that we just had to ask...do you think there are any fish in there???  It has been fun, but hopefully the sun finds a way back to Mequon soon or we might just end up on an island.
