Cub Scouts

It is official, I am finally a Cub Scout! I've been wanting to do this for a few years now, but with our schedules I had to draw the line somewhere. Now that Dad is home though we have a bit more flexibility so I jumped at the chance to join. We've already participated in a few events - food drive, annual wreath sale, and the Lion's Den Gorge hike. I have the entire outfit as well, and need to thank Grandma Jackie for sewing on my 5 million patches! I can't wait to see what adventures we go on, and I am especially excited for the Pinewood Derby!

The Elegant Farmer

The annual tradition continues...apple picking with the Lards at The Elegant Farmer. With summer deciding to stick around for awhile we couldn't have asked for a better day to enjoy apple cider doughnuts, the corn maze, and apple picking. The corn maze this year was bigger and better so much so that we lost half of the crew somewhere in the middle. With time and a the help of a mini search crew we found them all and headed back to the orchard to fill our 1/2 bushels. We picked (and sampled) almost every variety they had to offer filling our basket until it was overflowing. We just love apple picking and are already dreaming of the yummy applesauce and apple crisps that will follow!

Fun AND Relaxation

With no plans on the calendar and Dad out of town we decided to head up to Cedarburg to enjoy the Wine and Harvest Festival. The weather could not have been better, but after walking around for a few hours our little feet were tired. This led to a trip to the library where we were able to lose ourselves in a few good books. There is nothing better than fun and relaxation!

Say Cheese

Our official second grade pictures have arrived. This year they got a bit fancy giving us our very own book of photographs which includes a free calendar with a giant picture of us front and center. I guess who wouldn't want to look at our smiling faces every day!?!?

Lego Creation

Mom was at the library today and stumbled across the most amazing Lego creation ever! It just happened to be made by yours truly a few weeks ago at Lego Club. This beauty includes gems, a tv, a fully stocked kitchen, a skate ramp, a garage, and a roof deck. Not bad if I do say so myself!

Hello Second Grade!

Waking up bright and early this morning was not the most pleasant experience to be honest with you, but once reality set in that there was no way we were getting out of our first day of school we decided to roll with it. It really wasn't all that bad, and the bus remembered to pick us up this year which was a bonus! In the end I described my first day of second grade as "good" and Lily used the word "fun" so we'll mark it down as a success here in our world!
