Baby Shark

Maxwell was pretty bummed that he didn't get to join us for trick-or-treating on Sunday thanks to pink eye. The few days of rest made him more than ready as he headed over to Newcastle Place, a retirement community near our house today, for a little trick-or-treating of his own. His baby shark alter ego was on full display as he marched around gathering almost as much candy as we did. Impressive for a one year old! He enjoyed himself so much so that he didn't even want to take his costume off for the ride home.

Trick-or-Treat

We took part in the annual trick-or-treat/birthday celebration bash again this year with some neighborhood friends. I was a death trooper from Star Wars, and Lily was a unicorn along with a few of her friends. Lily and Maggie shared a cake this year and stuck with the unicorn theme. My cake was a mushroom from Mario Brothers. We definitely keep one upping our cake choices each year, but Mom is always up for the challenge.

Three Little Pumpkins

Today was the all important pumpkin carving day. This year's designs: a Minecraft Creeper, a unicorn, and a traditional jack-o-lantern. We did our part scooping out all of the seeds, Max did his part falling into the bowl of seeds, and Pop Pops and Daddy did the carving. Mom even made pumpkin seeds this year...YUMMY!

Company Harvest Party

Tonight I celebrated with my dance company at our annual Harvest Party. There were arts and crafts and even a haunted house - my favorite!

Happy Fall Y'All

Maxwell had another first today...jumping in a pile of leaves! He wasn't so sure about the crunchy leaves, but he loved everything else about the warm fall day!

Fancy

My Girl Scout Troop had a little Go-See-It event today up at Flying S Ranch in Grafton. If you can't tell from the pictures we got to go horseback riding. We were able to groom, tack, and handle the horses. My particular horse was named Fancy which was a perfect name! We also took some time to make a lucky horseshoe craft. I'm pretty sure I have a new favorite activity!!!

Cub Scout Fall Campout - Menomonee Park

Rain or shine, the Cub Scouts are always prepared, and we proved ourselves yet again by camping in the rain. The whole family was going to join me for this excursion, but the rain kept Max and Dad at home. Mom, Lily, and I toughed it out though hiking, cooking dinner, making s'mores, and tying knots. Luckily we didn't have any intention of spending the night, but we stayed well past dark and had a blast!

Waiting for the Bus

One of Maxwell's favorite things to do is wait for the bus with us in the morning. He hangs out on the porch and then waves to us before we get on the bus. It definitely is a great send off each day!!!

Tomatoes

We joined Dad at his office since he had some work to do on a Sunday and stumbled across loads and loads of tomatoes that Mr. Dav has been growing. Max used his new teeth (seventh and eighth) to bite into as many as he could...and the verdict every time was YUCK!
