We Have Arrived!!

Hello world, here we come. We finally arrived on October 30,2007. We came into the world at 9:00 and 9:01 A.M. Since I arrived first I will speak for both of us. My name is Ryan Wayne and I weighed in at 6 lbs 1.5 oz and 18.5 inches long. My little sister, Lily Marie, weighed in at 5 lbs 2 oz and 18 inches long. Mom and Dad are both very excited and very tired so we'll try to be extra good today. We can't wait to meet everyone!!! Also, a BIG congratulations to the 12 people who voted 36 weeks...we made it!

We're getting BIG!!!

We shocked mom and dad once again. Mom had an ultrasound today, and although we didn't cooperate well enough to get pictures, they were able to estimate our weights. Mom and dad were hoping for around 4 1/2 pounds. Well, baby A (boy) came in at 5 pounds 4 ounces and baby B (girl) came in at 4 pounds 11 ounces. That means mom is carrying almost 10 pounds of baby. That must explain all of mom's pains and her new swelling in the legs and feet. The doctor measured mom's belly too, and she is measuring at 45 weeks if she were having just one baby...YIKES! We think mom is still in shock by how big we are, and we're sure she is ready to have us now. Hopefully soon, because we are getting pretty cramped in here.

Mommy's Belly

Check out mommy's growing belly. People keep saying that she is small for twins, but at 31 weeks she was measuring at over 40 weeks if she was only carrying one baby. We'll add pictures as she keeps growing.

At 34 weeks we will add pictures weekly since mommy is growing so fast. Her belly grew 3 inches in one week - between 33.1 and 34.1 weeks. We must be getting big!

At 35 weeks mommy was measuring at 45 weeks if she was carrying one baby. Mom and dad think that is huge, but we are running out of room in here.

19.1 weeks (7/3/07)

21.4 weeks (7/20/07)
28.6 weeks (9/9/07)
31.1 weeks (9/25/07)
33.1 weeks (10/9/07) 34.1 weeks (10/16/07)

35.1 weeks (10/23/07)

35 Weeks!

Can you believe that we are still in mommy's belly?!? I know she is having a hard time believing it. Dad keeps joking that we will be in there for three more weeks, but we don't think mom finds that very funny. We also want to apologize to all of you who voted for 33 or 34 weeks...sorry, you lost!

We made it all the way to 35 weeks, and mom was officially discharged from her terbutaline pump today (that is the medication that helps control the pre-term contractions). She wore her monitor for the last time this morning and only had one contraction in an hour which is great. For one more week she will take the oral form of terbutaline, but then she is done with all medication. Yeah!!!

Tomorrow mom gets to go to the doctor for an ultrasound and non-stress test. Sounds like fun! We actually will get to find out our approximate weights which is always exciting, and I'm sure they'll take pictures. You'll have to check back tomorrow because knowing mom she'll make sure to post them so that everyone can see us.

Updated Nursery

Mom and dad have added a few things to the nursery since July. They still have a few more things to add, like our initials over the crib, but they won't show anyone those until after we are born.

If for some reason you are unable to see the pictures below (you have a black box instead) click on the "x" in the upper right corner until the pictures appear. Sorry!

Great Grandpa Giesler

Today grandma had to fly home because our great grandpa passed away during the night. It is sad that we won't get to meet him because he was always checking in with grandma on how mom was doing, and he always enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren. Grandma said she was coming back Monday night so hopefully we can hang in there until then.

34 Weeks and we have Names!!!

Today is officially the 34 week mark, and we are still in mom's belly. Who would have thought that 10 weeks ago, when mom was first admitted to the hospital, that we would be here today. As of today the doctor will no longer take any extreme measures to stop mom's labor if we decide it is time to come out. Mom and dad are very excited about that because that means no more magnesium (the yucky drug) to stop the contractions. Mom is still on her terbutaline pump to help slow the contractions, but that probably won't stop us if we become determined, and the doctor said that is okay. We are definitely getting pretty cramped in here. Both of us are under mom's ribs, and we hear her complaining that it hurts a lot. We also like to use mom's bladder as a trampoline, which I'm sure she appreciates. I think mom and dad are both ready for us to come out soon for many reasons.

We also officially have names now!!! Mom and dad finally decided what we will be named, but sorry, we can't tell anyone. Only five people know our names: mom, dad, us, and Wrigley of course. Good luck trying to get Wrigley to spill the beans!

Finally, we want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this pregnancy. We definitely didn't make things easy for mom or dad, but we made it pretty far, and we're still going. We can't wait to come out soon and meet all of you, and then we promise we'll tell you all our names!

Triage Again!

Mom had to go to triage again on Wednesday (10/3) because she started bleeding and contracting a lot. They had to check to see if mom went into labor, but they think she is okay. The contractions would not slow to a consistent safe level though so mom had to be admitted to the hospital. We probably aren't helping since we move around so much. After two days the doctor finally felt good enough about letting her go home. She only has to make it 10 more days and then the doctor said no more extreme measures to stop her labor so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Grandma Arrives!

Today our Grandma Williams (mom's mom) arrived to help mom and dad while they get ready for our birth. She is staying until December so she'll be able to help mom and dad after we arrive as well. Good thing, because they'll probably need all of the help they can get!

ASU Baby Shower

Everyone at ASU threw daddy a baby shower today. They thought it was funny that dad didn't know what everything was...especially this doll that someone bought that is obviously a doll. Bryce, Frank, and Jarrod offered to babysit us, but Bryce only wants us one at a time so that he can use us to pick up chicks. That's silly, but we still love you Bryce!!!
