Baby Marc's Baptism

Baby Marc was baptized today, and Daddy was given the important job of Godparent so we headed down to Illinois to celebrate the occasion.

Master Gardener

Today is what a master gardener like myself would consider a good day. Mom and I were able to harvest another tomato, our first strawberry (which was in my and Lily's belly faster than Mom could get a picture), and tons of jalapenos, zucchini, and basil. We had so much food I had to go get my basket to carry it all inside. Everything else is growing quite well and it is only a matter of days before we have enough tomatoes to feed an army, and some red peppers, corn, and pumpkins! Our first attempt at a garden has been successful (at least we think so) and we can't wait to see just how much food we get!

Adventures at the Zoo

I wasn't happy or upset about giraffe class today, but after arriving at the zoo I went into it with a somewhat open mind. I managed to complete all of the projects and once home I enjoyed showing Mom and Lily all of the stuff I made. I'm really excited for the reptile class this Fall, and I think I had that on the brain the entire time. Hopefully I can sign up for that one so I can learn all about snakes, lizards, and alligators!!!

Lily here! While Ryan was at Giraffe class, Mom and I braved the hot temperatures and roamed the zoo. We stayed indoors for most of the time, but did venture out to say hi to the sea lions, polar bear, elephants, flamingos, and giraffes. We also got to see an orangutan eating a giant popsicle. If only our popsicles could be so big! We changed up our route a bit too and got to see the aviary building where I spent some time getting up close and personal with the different birds. It is always an adventure at the zoo here our world!

Beat the Heat

What do you do when it feels like 105 degrees outside and it is 7:30 at night? If you're me, you jump through the sprinkler while no one else is looking! Unfortunately Mom caught me in the act, but not before I was covered from head to toe in ice cold water! If you are Ryan, you sit inside and watch cartoons, which apparently doesn't make you worthy of a picture, at least for today. To each their own here in our world!

H-H-H-HOT

That is HOT with a capital H-O-T! Lily kept saying it felt like 100 degrees and I think she may have been right, but that is all the more reason to go swimming! Our pool is in such a state of disrepair (too many holes, not enough patches) that we decided we had to steal our old pool back from Wrigley. He wasn't too happy about this, but a kid's gotta do what a kid's gotta do. Luckily Mom brought out the sprinkler too since the pool was a little cramped with both of us in it. We're having fun in the sun here in our world!

Hot Dog

Daddy scored some Brewers tickets from the home plate umpire for today's game so we headed to Miller Park to take in some baseball. Little did we know it was hot dog day at the park and we all got free hot dog bobble heads. Lily and I were pretty excited because we could put one in each of our rooms, but I wonder what Mom and Dad are going to do with their hot dogs? We LOVE the sausages at Miller Park so this was quite a highlight for us, and of course the hot dog won the race even though Lily cheered for the Polish?!?! We didn't make it through the whole game due to the heat, but we did make it long enough to con Dad out of some ice cream which is all that really matters! It was a great day at the ballpark here in our world!

Born to Play

This weekend we were Mommy's little helpers since she had to watch our friend Jayden. We made sure to find fun things to do every day. Friday, we met Daddy for a picnic dinner and then we played at Lake Park. Daddy taught us how to use the zip line which was a lot of fun. Saturday, we headed to Lakefront 7's on the lakefront to watch rugby. We didn't watch much rugby though because we were too busy running around. The only thing that stopped us in our tracks was when the giant blimp flew over...amazing! We are always discovering new things here in our world!

Ryan's First Movie

I finally found a movie that I wanted to see in the theatre - Cars 2! It was a special day for Daddy and me so I made sure to get decked out in my best Cars 2 shirt I could find. I have three of them so it was a pretty tough decision. What wasn't tough was deciding on my snack once at the theatre...popcorn! I was even a nice brother and saved some popcorn for my sister, but she claimed she didn't like it so that just meant more popcorn for me! A movie and popcorn is always a good combination here in our world!

Milwaukee Zoo

We are taking advantage of all of this beautiful weather and doing lots of stuff outside. On today's list...the Milwaukee zoo with our friends London, Lacey, and Brady. Mom came prepared with the stroller, but we had more fun pushing it ourselves than riding in it. We loved running from animal to animal stopping only long enough to see if they were awake or not. The best encounters of the day included the hyenas and the penguins. We're headed back in a few weeks again and who knows what we'll discover then!

Flag and Rocket Day

Get ready, get set, GO! That about sums up our Fourth of July weekend, and is the reason for the 4000 pictures. From the minute we arrived up at the cottage we were on the go. Saturday we took the "relaxation station" out on the lake only to return a few minutes later because I just wanted to hang out with Grandma at the cottage. After dropping me off Dad, Mom, and Lily made it back out to the middle of the lake where they swam like fish for hours. Saturday night we headed over to the Munger Lake boat parade and then enjoyed a few post parade fireworks. Sunday, Mom and Dad took us on an adventure to Boot Lake where we played and swam at the beach for hours. Lily practiced her underwater skills while I focused on more important things like building giant sand castles complete with moats and bridges. Sunday night we somehow managed to squeeze in strawberry shortcake and smores, as well as a quick fishing trip and fireworks of our own. We only fished one time, but we made it count with Lily catching a bluegill and myself a bass. As for the fireworks we aren't really sure how we feel. We loved the sparklers and fountains, but in the end decided that as a whole they were too loud. Wrigley wholeheartedly agreed so we decided to call it quits. That's when Grandma broke out the glow sticks and we were ready to go again. After three fun filled days and nights we cleaned up and headed home, but not before heading to the candy store or should we say ice cream store. That's right, we didn't make it to the candy store, instead we decided to stop at a different ice cream store where we discovered rainbow sherbet and a pink bench with Lily's name written all over it! What an amazing "flag and rocket day" weekend it was!!!!
