Costume Fitting

Our dance costumes are in for Harry Potter and Imperial March. Today was fitting day and good news - they fit!

Slow Monday

After a long and busy weekend we begged Mom to let us stay home from school this morning, but we didn't succeed. Somehow she and Maxwell enjoyed a slow morning in their pajamas though. We see how this works!

20 Months

20 months! How is it possible that Maxwell is nearing the age of two so fast?!?! Since Dad was out of town and Ryan was whooping it up in the Dells with a friend we decided to have a mini popsicle party to celebrate the big 20 month mark! I'm pretty confident Maxwell enjoyed every minute of the celebration!

Inferno Competition

This weekend my dance studio was in the Inferno Dance Competition in New Berlin. It was an all day affair for Mom and me, but it was worth it! My group was one of six called back to perform in the showcase because the judges liked us so much. We ended up with first place in our division and the rest of the studio did spectacular as well with one of our dances taking home Grand Champion with the highest overall score. There was a lot of screaming, cheering, and of course dancing going on today!

Selfie Queens

This is what happens when Mom and I get left alone for too long together! After over an hour of hair and makeup in preparation for my competition today things got a little crazy! I think it was the false eyelashes that drove us over the edge!

Counting down on Nineteen Months

19 months has been pretty exciting around here. Maxwell is saying more and more with his new favorite words being banana and apple. He will imitate most anything now though to the best of his ability and gets his point across just fine. He loves "calling dada" whenever he can, although when he actually gets him on the phone he just smiles and refuses to talk to him. He can navigate an iPad like no other, and loves the movies Moana and Coco. He gets out his plate and cup each morning and immediately opens the freezer to pull out what he wants for breakfast. He even climbs into his own booster now and eats with us at the table. Aside from heating up the food (which he could probably do if he could reach the microwave), we're pretty sure he could survive on his own. He is eating most everything now and has a good set of chompers to help him out. Two new teeth just popped up this week for a total of 16 now! He continues to amaze us and make us laugh each and every day!

Wax Museum

Lily and I presented at the fourth grade famous Wisconsinites wax museum this evening. Maxwell was one of the many in attendance and he quickly became an expert at hitting everyone's button to hear them speak. I was Frank Lloyd Wright and Lily was Joyce Westerman. We both wrote speeches and created slide shows to go along with our presentations. After lots of practice we had a successful evening where we talked until our throats hurt.

April Snow Brings May???

A rare April snowstorm hit us this weekend. We only ended up with about four inches, unlike our neighbors to the North who received 24 inches, so we are not complaining! We decided to break out our snow gear again and enjoy it while we can, but we have to believe that Spring is out there somewhere!

Thunderstruck Competition

My big sister and I were all ready to go for our dance competition today. My team did well, but it was a humbling experience being the young kids in our division this time around. We managed to place 8th out of at least 16 though so not too bad!
