A Weekend in Portland

Saturday morning we woke up and took a walk to Voodoo Doughnut. We heard this place was a must see, and we would agree. The doughnuts were crazy! Mine had gum in the middle and Lily's was covered in dirt (Oreo cookies). After breakfast we met up with Mr. Ben and Ms. Erin and checked out some downtown sights like the Saturday Market and Powell's Books. This bookstore was so large that we got lost a few times...unbelievable! Saturday evening Mr. Ben's daughter, Zoe, babysat for us so that the grownups could go to a concert. We had fun baking cookies and watching movies, although Max would probably disagree as the dogs, Olive and Stella, barked and destroyed a few of his toys.

Sunday we met up with Mr. Ben, Ms. Erin, and Zoe for breakfast at Jam on Hawthorne. Then we headed back to the hotel for some downtime since Dad wasn't feeling the best. I took advantage of the quiet time and read some of my new books I had gotten at Powell's. Lily and Mom couldn't sit still and headed out to do some shopping. That evening, Dad still wasn't up to going out so after a quick dinner at the food carts (where we tried and disliked Bubble Tea) we gave Max a bath, and then decided to call it a night early so we'd be ready for Monday.
