Helmets...So We Can Be Safe

We love to watch Dora so we decided to try out our new helmets so we can be safe, after all that is what Dora is always saying. It was another beautiful Spring Day here so we took full advantage of the sunshine and headed outdoors. We also got to try out our new sand toy that we received for our new sandbox that should be coming soon! Yippee! As for the helmets, they weren't so bad. I was dreading having to wear something on my head, but it really didn't bother me once I got it on. Good thing because now I can ride my scooter whenever I want. We love going super fast here in our world!

New Friend

Our new friend, Gracie, came to visit us today. It was so much fun having a girl around to play with. Not that Lily isn't fun and all, but all of our friends that we play with seem to be boys for some reason. Gracie's mommy is having a baby any day now too so I'm hoping for another girl, although both Lily and I predicted it would be a boy. Whatever it is we hope the baby comes soon so we can hang out with Gracie again. We love making new friends here in our world!

Opening Day

Mom and Dad took us to opening day at Miller Park today. We were so excited to go see a baseball game that we literally ran and bounced our way into the stadium. Once inside we took in all of the fine things Miller Park had to offer like popcorn, french fries, and hot dogs. We made it through 7 innings in our seats and then it was off to the Kid Zone to play for awhile. We both ran for the yellow slide, but after making it to the top, I chickened out and Dad had to come get me. I tried one more time, but just couldn't bring myself to go down the slide. Our final stop was to visit the Chorizo and Polish sausages, two out of five of Milwaukee's finest. I again chose to not participate, but Lily jumped in giving knuckles and high fives. It was a perfect day for baseball, and even though we're Cubs fans, we can't wait to go to another Brewers game. Baseball is great here in our world!

Easter

Today we celebrated our first Easter back in Wisconsin, and what a celebration it was. We woke up to our favorite game of hide-and-seek. Apparently the Easter Bunny decided to hide our Easter baskets while we were sleeping, and we found them in the bathtub of all places. We got lots of fun stuff, but our favorite was for the second year in a row, Crunchies. We can't get enough of those things, and Mom never buys them anymore so when they show up we can't help but sit and eat them all right away. We made sure to save room for pancakes and bacon though...our staple Sunday breakfast.

After a yummy breakfast and nice warm bath we got ready to head to Grandma Williams' house for an Easter egg hunt. When we arrived there were eggs everywhere. We both jumped out of the car in search of our orange and pink eggs only to be told that we had to wait for all of our cousins to arrive. The suspense was killing us and we couldn't help but look out the window a thousand times to make sure the eggs didn't go anywhere. Somehow we survived though and when the Easter egg hunt finally began we took off running super fast as we like to say. Mom had a hard time keeping up with me, and in the end I was the first one to find all 16 eggs. It was fun opening each egg to see what was inside, and then Grandma Jackie surprised all of us kids with Easter bags. Of course the fun didn't end there. We spent a good amount of time outside riding bikes and playing basketball. We can't forget about dinner too...the food part is always good! We headed back home around bedtime, and quickly fell asleep in the car only to dream about what a great Easter we had. Wishing all of you a very happy Easter from our world!

Easter Eggs

Mom was daring today and let us dye Easter eggs. We were mesmerized by the dissolving tablets, and still can't quite figure out where they went. I thought the whole point was to drink the colored water, and wasn't sure why Mom put eggs in each cup, but once she pulled them out we understood. The eggs look so cool and after they dry Mom is going to let us decorate them with stickers. Things just got more colorful in our world!

Gone, But Not Forgotten

A letter to Grandpa Wayne:

Why we've never met you is hard for us to comprehend. We've never seen you in person, touched you, or heard your voice, but we know that you are our grandpa. Mommy always tells us when we do something that reminds her of someone else in the family, and your name seems to come up an awful lot. Like whenever I pretend to answer the phone and I say "Yello" instead of "Hello". We think that's a good thing considering we turned out to be pretty amazing kids, and from everything we've heard about you, you were one amazing man. You passed away five years ago today, before we were even a dot on this map of life. Although we never got the chance to meet you we feel like you are a huge part of our lives. Mommy and Daddy share lots of photos and memories of you with us, and we feel lucky to know that we are a part of you. With time we see more and more of you in us. We're bummed that we'll never get to experience one of your whisker rubs, we'll never go for a ride with you on your four wheeler, we'll never share a HUGE bowl of ice cream with you, and you won't be around to teach us how to catch our first fish. We're glad though that Mom and Dad are sharing all of these memories with us, and trust us, we're eating enough ice cream for all three of us. You may be gone Grandpa, but you will never be forgotten. We love you.

Organization is Key

Gigi, Pop Pop, Titi Molly, and Uncle Craig came up this weekend to celebrate Easter and help out with some stuff around the house. The big project was organizing Daddy's garage. When we moved in a few months ago everything that didn't have a place, got piled into the third stall of our garage. You can imagine what that looked like, and Daddy decided it was time to get it all cleaned up. I put on my work shirt to look like Pop Pop, and grabbed a few tools, but I didn't work for long due to interest in some new found treasures that were hidden deep beneath all of the stuff. Daddy found one of our tricycles and both of our scooters, and they were just calling our names. Mom warned us that we are headed to buy helmets this week (thanks to me and all of my accidents I'm sure). I'm not a huge fan of things on my head, but I'll deal with it when the time comes. Mom and Gigi also taught us how to play hopscotch with pine cones, and we got in a Spanish lesson while hopping around. We're wondering what else we can organize here in our world!

Wonderful Wednesday

Today was a wonderful Wednesday, at least by our definition of the term. We were wonderful shoppers, wonderful nappers, wonderful eaters, and wonderful playmates. We were able to spend most of the afternoon outside blowing bubbles and drawing with chalk. We even took a field trip all the way around the house discovering all sorts of new things along the way. Mom surprised us when we came inside with some of her stuff she used to use when she was a working mommy. Our favorites were the horn and the echo microphones. Lily and I put on quite a show singing songs for Mommy, and Lily tried to play along with the horn. Hopefully tomorrow will be a terrific Thursday in our world!
