Seal and Sea Lion Junior Trainers

Today was our last official adventure of the summer, and it was worth the wait. We spent all morning at Seal and Sea Lion Junior Training Camp where we learned how to train these amazing animals. We talked about how animals adapt to different environments, which included using pet rats which Lily loved! We also talked about and handled (or looked at if you're me) the fish the seals and sea lions eat which was definitely my least favorite part. Back by the pool we were ready to go, and with our clickers and targets in tow we had the animals clapping, jumping, waving, talking, and doing hand stands. We were so good by the end that we got to participate in the noon seal show for an audience of people, and it is now official, we are Junior Trainers!

PGA Championship

 

With temperatures in the high 80s we headed up to Whistling Straits in Kohler to take in round 3 of the PGA Championship. Number one on my list to see was Jordan Spieth, which I achieved on the 10th hole while enjoying a frozen strawberry lemonade. We then snuck over to 11 to catch a close up of him as he walked by after he teed off, and boy did he seemed tall. We parked on the 16th hole for awhile as well to enjoy the lake breeze, and while there we saw Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker, BJ Singh, and Bubba Watson to name a few. We then wandered over to 15 where Rory McIlroy hit a 64-foot putt for eagle which was nothing less than AMAZING! We left after almost 7 hours of golf and enjoyed every minute of it...this is major!

To Play or Not to Play

When going to a playground one would naturally think it would be to play. This does not always hold true for me though, as today I chose to read while Lily happily swung from the monkey bars. After nearly finishing my entire book I took a break for some spins on the tire swing, but then it was back to my book since I am a reading machine!

Sheboygan Day

 

It was a wet and rainy Friday, but that didn't stop us from heading to Sheboygan with Ms. Mary and Ms. Lindsay. Ms. Lindsay's kids, Grace and Will, joined us as well as we started our morning off at Bookworm Gardens. Every turn of this fun garden represented a different story, many of which we have already read. We then headed to the lake to have a picnic lunch. Due to the rain coming down pretty heavy we were only able to play there for a bit after lunch, but this gave us a good reason to try out a local coffee shop where we indulged in the best hot chocolate...there may have been more whip cream on top of the cup than hot chocolate in the cup...yum!!! Then it was off the the courthouse where we met Ms. Mary's dad, who just happens to be a judge. He took us on a tour and then we got to pretend Ms. Mary was a criminal and we held a mock trial to see if she was guilty or innocent. I made for a pretty good D.A., as Ms. Mary was sentenced to 7 months in prison. We played around with the court stenographer for a bit as well learning how to type on her cool machine. We left with fun gavel pencils to remember our visit and then we headed home since we needed to get to Ms. Jude's and Mr. Dav's for a birthday party.
