The Domes

We joined our friend, Jack, and his parents this morning for breakfast at The Original Pancake House on Downer. Good choice since my appetite has returned. I managed to crush 3 pancakes, some bacon, and some strawberries with whipped cream. Yummy! Lily enjoyed eating spoonfuls of whipped cream and the super long pieces of bacon...go figure since her theme song is "I love bacon." Afterwards, we all headed to the Mitchell Park Conservatory, otherwise known as The Domes. We ran through the tropical and desert domes checking out the plants and fish in the ponds. Mom gave us money to throw in the water, and we saw bananas growing on some of the trees. While there we even ran into a friend of ours who we haven't had the chance to meet yet, Gracie. Small world! Mom and Dad saved the best dome for last, the Floral Show Dome filled with model choo-choo trains. There were flowers everywhere, but running through them all were working trains. Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel were even there, and they were so close when they went by I could almost touch them. It was a great way to spend a Sunday morning, and we're hoping we can go back soon! Pancakes and trains are two of my favorites in our world!
