Coronavirus Quarantine - Day 5

Today Chef Maxwell prepared breakfast for all of us and it was delicious! We also broke out Just Dance on Wii, where Max impressed us with his moves! It is amazing what you can find when you need to stay busy!

Coronavirus Quarantine Day 4

Today we did bouncing bubbles and outdoor art. When it came time to agree upon what we were going to draw we all somehow magically decided the solar system would be just fine! Not sure Max even knows what the solar system is, but he drew lots of circles with no complaint!

Legacy Dance Competition

Although coronavirus has shut down most of the world, Lily's dance competition went on as scheduled. It was a nice distraction from the craziness in the world right now, but probably not the best decision on the companies part to refuse refunds and go on with the show. Anyway, Academy of Dance Arts did awesome. Lily had six dances and scored platinum in all six which is the highest level you can get. The overall dances came in as follows: Junior Hip Hop (Wait a Minute) 1st place, small group modern (Jump In) 8th place, Intermediate Jazz (Faith) 4th place, Intermediate Modern (Land of All) 2nd place, small group jazz (Sweet n' Sassy) 5th place, hip hop duet (Where Them Girls At) 6th place. The studio also received the championship award for top 12 and under group after taking the average of every studios top five routines. Amazing!

Pearly Whites

Maxwell had his first official cleaning at the dentist office today. His last appointment was more of an "experience" visit, but today was the real deal! He had an air gun fight with the hygienist which ALMOST turned into a water gun fight, he had to wear sunglasses throughout the cleaning because every time he looked at the light he sneezed, and he followed directions like a champion. When he finished he looked over at mom and without a word flashed her a thumbs up so the dentist was a-okay in Maxwell's world!

Stronger Together

 This afternoon we had our annual showcase, our first real run through of our company dances on the big stage. There were a few hiccups and nerves, but we put on a great show. Only a few more weeks and the competition season begins!

3 1/2

3 1/2 is a pretty big deal in the life of a preschooler who just happens to have a summer birthday, because the 1/2 birthday is the day the school chooses to celebrate that child. Well, today was Max's day (he'll be 3 1/2 on Saturday) and he lived it up! Both Mom and Dad got to go to school with him, he alone was special helper for the day, and he got to share pictures and a book with the whole class.  He took his trip around the sun 3 1/2 times while everyone sang, he blew out 3 1/2 candles, and he got to pick out a necklace which he proudly wore all day. He of course picked out the one with the most bling. What a fun morning it was, and what a special way to celebrate Max!
