Happy birthday to us! We are 3 months old today. What a month it has been. As you can see we have both grown quite a bit (refer to December 30th post). We are so big that we both can't fit in our chair anymore so I guess we'll have to learn to share. Lily has graduated from all newborn clothes and is officially in 0-3. I am currently in 0-3, but have started squeezing into some 3-6 month clothes. This is especially true for pants, but who knows where my long legs came from. Our big accomplishments for the month include smiling and sleeping in the crib. I think mom finally got to sleep in her bed too which is an accomplishment for her. Lily also rolled over in mid-January, but she is still having trouble getting that arm underneath her. She gets frustrated easily and gives up, but I bet she gets it soon. Mom and dad have taken us on a lot more field trips now that we are getting bigger too, and mom has even ventured out alone with us. We got to visit mom's schools and dad's clinics, we've been to a few malls, and out to dinner. We even made it to Target and Babies "R" Us which seem to be staples in mom and dad's life. Although we went on many excursions this month and met a great deal of people, we are still excited about meeting more people. Hopefully we be able to do that as we continue on our adventure we call life. See you soon!!!

Mohawk
As you can see from the look on my face I am shocked by my hairdo. Mom and I were just goofing around, and I never imagined it would turn out so good! Lily must be jealous that she doesn't have as much hair as I do.

2 Month Check-up
We had our two month check-up today with Dr. Mike. We are actually 10 weeks old, but due to the holidays we got in to see the doctor a little late. Mom and dad let us duke it out while we waited for the doctor. Thank goodness we didn't give one another a black eye, but we both got in a few good shots. As you can see from all of the bandages, we had our first round of immunizations - four shots and one drink. We handled the pain quite well if I do say so myself, although I did see actual tears come out of Lily. Dad said that I was screaming so loud that my face turned a deep shade of red and he thought I was going to explode. I think dad exaggerates. Mom and dad took a friend's advice (thanks Donna) and had a bottle ready to go as soon as the shots were done. That quieted both Lily and I right up and we were ready for our next adventure to Target. As for our height and weight we both made great gains according to Dr. Mike. I weighed in at 11 pounds 6 ounces (33rd percentile) and was 22 1/2 inches long (20th percentile). Lily weighed 10 pounds 6 ounces (32nd percentile) and was 22 inches long (23rd percentile). Both of our head circumferences were near the 30th percentile as well, although my head was a little bigger. That must mean I have more brains, but don't tell Lily. Otherwise everything looked good. I did hear the doctor say we have to go back when we are 4 four months old, but maybe he was just being silly. We sure hope so.

Happy New Year!
Our New Year's celebration was pretty uneventful since all of us have a cold. We stayed home and watched some football and all of the celebrations on TV. Mom and I made it to midnight, thanks to me refusing to fall asleep. The same can't be said for dad and Lily though. They passed out well before the ball dropped...amateurs. Well, we hope 2008 is filled with lots of great times for all of us. Stay tuned for our exciting first year, which hopefully includes meeting many of you!

2 Months Old
We are 2 months old today! Mom and dad said time is flying by too fast, but they enjoy watching us grow up too. We are now bigger than the cabbage patch dolls (refer to November 4 post). Lily is officially out of all preemie clothes, and she is almost too big for some of her newborn PJs. I am now wearing mostly 0-3 clothes since I'm so long and lean. My big milestone for the month was rolling over at 5 weeks, and I haven't stopped since. Lily is gaining some interest in this skill as well, but she doesn't understand that she has to pull her arm underneath her for it to work. I can't tell you how many times she gets her lower body over, but her shoulders and head just won't go. Mom and dad said her cheeks are holding her down, but it is obviously her arm. Another big accomplishment for both of us is that we are sleeping for longer periods now since we are eating more. For some reason mom and dad seem to be so happy about this?!?! We are also starting to smile some, but we still only do this for special occasions.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone! We thought we'd share a few photos from our exciting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations. We spent Christmas Eve with our friends at Uncle Larry and Aunt Pam's house. This morning we opened presents from Santa, our mom and dad, our grandparents, our cousins, and other family and friends. As you can see we received lots of cool stuff to wear and play with, and we got a few ornaments to decorate our tree with. A HUGE thank you to everyone for all of our gifts! Other than that we relaxed in our cool PJs from Great-Grandma Ruiz (thanks!) while mom and dad had breakfast. We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and mom and dad want us to tell everyone to stay warm!

Visiting Santa
Mom took Lily and I to visit Santa today with our friends, Donna and Landen Tow. Thank goodness she got a picture of us with him, because we both slept through the whole thing. Santa was able to figure out what we want for Christmas though, and he let mom know that I want an Xbox and Lily wants a cellphone.

Decorating the Tree
We discovered the best thing about Christmas so far, lights!!! We absolutely love Christmas lights, and mommy and daddy provided us with quite a show while decorating our Christmas tree. Mom and dad said that we were so in love with Christmas lights that they are thinking of decorating our crib just to entertain us. Too bad they won't actually do it.

Ryan Rolls Over!
I performed a spectacular feat tonight! During tummy time with mom, I without warning, rolled over! Mom was the only one who saw it, so of course I had to perform my trick again for dad and grandma. It took some effort, but I did it all by myself 3 or 4 times. Dad tried to get Lily to roll over too, but I think she was either too hungry or tired to care. Now that I have that milestone checked off, watch out world, here comes trouble!

Out for Dinner
We had another outing tonight to have dinner at mom and dad's friends' house...or as we call them Uncle Larry and Aunt Pam. We also got to meet their dogs, Ruby and Shera, for the first time. We think Ruby really liked us, although it was hard for her to understand that we aren't big enough to play yet.
