19 Months

Maxwell is starting off 19 months with a bang! In the last week he has successfully packed for and visited New Orleans, visited the Milwaukee County Zoo, attended his cousins' birthday party in Illinois, and hung out with Lily and I at Flips4All where he most definitely was a Force to be Reckoned With!

Back to Reality

We spent the day in Illinois for Marc and Landon's birthday party, and who just happened to be there but my friend, Lilly. Small world! After a fun filled day it was back to reality though with the boys getting haircuts and Mom and I going grocery shopping. I of course had to have some fun though so into the race car cart I went!

NOLA

 

These photos are just a glimpse into our amazing spring break adventure in New Orleans. We visited the Audubon Zoo where we saw the hugest alligator ever! We rode the streetcar...ate beignets...walked down Bourbon Street...ate beignets...toured Jackson Square (St. Louis Cathedral)...ate beignets. We also ventured outside the city to Manchac Swamp where we saw tons of alligators including one that was about 10 feet long. We even held an alligator, or at least sat close to its' head. We enjoyed a cemetery and voodoo tour where we saw the grave of Marie Laveau. Lily and Mom also took a nighttime walking tour of the city where they learned all about the ghosts and spirits that haunt New Orleans. Max ate tons of food trying gulf shrimp, catfish, jambalaya, pralines, red beans and rice, a Po-Boy, King Cake, Bananas Foster, and Mom tried some crawfish - YUCK! We even tried a few drinks, non-alcoholic of course, that you may have heard of - a Pina Colada and a Hurricane. Lily also got her Smoothie King that she had been talking about all week on the way out of town. Everything about New Orleans was like nothing we had ever experienced before and we engrossed ourselves in the culture enjoying every minute of it!

Easter Weekend

We strayed from the norm this year for Easter and stuck around home since we are scheduled to leave on vacation on Monday morning. We spent Saturday indoors due to weather at North Shore Country Club where they had a petting zoo, face painting, and an egg hunt. Max was a little man on a mission climbing up and over golf carts to get every egg he saw. Lily and I were confined to the locker rooms where we scored at leave two dozen eggs each full of goodies! Sunday we forgot all about the Easter Bunny, and Mom actually woke us up to find our baskets. This year mine was in the laundry chute and Lily's was hanging on the coat rack under a coat. Max's was sitting in his garden house for all to see. I guess the Easter Bunny makes it harder as we get older.
