Squeeze On In

Great minds think alike, at least they do when the moms' backs are turned!

4-5

I managed to knock another tooth out today using a bit of excessive force. Who knew that a bus seat could be so hard? Losing this one may have been a bit premature being that it wasn't super loose; however, I'm kind of known for not having any patience, not wanting to lose, and not being able to sit still so I guess all of these good traits helped me almost catch up to Lily in the tooth race. I managed to score a cool tooth bracelet (to keep my tooth in) for all of my not so hard work as well!

Mother's Day Weekend

We celebrated our mom's this year at school by holding Poetry and Punch for our families on Friday.  All of the parents were invited to come in to listen to each first grade student recite a poem they wrote about a topic of their choice.  This was a bit of a challenge for Mom and Dad being that Lily and I are in separate classrooms this year, but our teachers scheduled it so that I went first in my class and Lily went last in her class. This way Mom and Dad could sneak out in the middle and hear both of us.  They then used the divide and conquer method for the punch portion of the event.  Mom hung out in my room with me where she captured Maggie and me hanging out, while Dad stayed in Lily's room.  The rest of the weekend was low key since Dad had been gone for 25 days. We spent time catching up on yard work and then enjoyed dinner with friends and wrapped up the weekend by seeing the new Avengers movie.

Gigi and Pop Pops Visit

Gigi and Pop Pops drove up for the day to hang out with yours truly and Lily.  After taking Mommy out for an early birthday lunch we walked the streets of Cedarburg popping into a few of our favorite spots.  Stop #1 was The Cedarburg Popcorn Company where we sampled almost all of their delicious flavors, and we each scored a bag of our own to bring home.  Stop #2 involved candy and fudge at Ashley's Confectionery, and stop #3 was my personal favorite, the Cedarburg Toy Company.  I think Pop Pops secretly enjoyed all of the toys as much as I did, and I managed to walk away with a pretty amazing gyroscope and Lily took home some glow in the dark black light putty.  We also enjoyed some fun backyard time with Gigi and Pop Pops where Pop Pops made us dizzy spinning us in our swings, and Gigi went for a little ride (on my bike).  On top of that we played tennis and chased a lot of bubbles filling up the time with lots of fun stuff here in our world!

Zoo Class

It has been awhile since we've been to the zoo and since we've seen our friend Jack, but today we accomplished both.  We joined Jack for zoo class this morning scultpting a monkey (Lily) and gorilla (Ryan) habitat using pipe cleaners, tissue paper, and model magic.

Sleeping Like Babies

Mom and Dad got a new bedroom set earlier this month, and we are taking full advantage of all of the extra room while Dad's away.  I'm pretty certain that Lily has slept in their new bed more than Dad has.

Grape Playdough

We found ourselves in quite a sticky situation this weekend as we attempted to make homemade kool-aid playdough, but it was nothing a little extra flour couldn't fix.

Sendik's

Ryan and I headed to Sendik's with our classes today for a field trip. We learned the ins and outs of how to run a grocery store, and Mom was lucky enough to join in the fun with my class.  We stayed busy checking out customers, making fresh squeezed orange juice, and talking with George the lobster.  We were even able to sample the homemade chips, drink the orange juice we squeezed, and try a cookie from the bakery which made the field trip even better!

Molly the Motorcycle Dog

Dad finally made it back to Wisconsin this morning so after picking him up at the airport we swung by Kopp's Frozen Custard in Greenfield to celebrate with one of our favorite flavors, Cookies n' Cream.  We had just sat down to eat our ice cream when up pulled a dog riding on a motorcycle, goggles and all!  It turns out that Molly is sort of a local celebrity, having been featured on the news. She willingly posed for pictures like all good celebrities do, and then proceeded to sing us a song. She was great, and definitely made our day!!!

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Today was an almost perfect day. Almost, only because Daddy got stuck in Memphis due to some plane issues so he won't be home until tomorrow. We decided to make the best of it though and started off our day over at the neighbor's house because Mommy had a dentist appointment to go to. After hanging out there for awhile we headed home to enjoy the sunshine for a bit before heading back over to the neighbor's house to celebrate Charlie turning two. We partied into the early evening hours munching on carrot cake and peanut butter cupcakes. We got to play with lots of friends both new and old.  It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood!!!

3-5

I'm staging a comeback of sorts, even though this loss was completely unplanned.  Lily and I were going about our regular routine this evening, which just happened to include a wrestling match, and Lily's fist or head (we're still undecided) got the best of one of my front teeth.  After the initial shock and excitement wore off there was a bit of pain, but it felt more weird for lack of a better term.  The other front tooth is also a bit wiggly so who knows I may catch up before you know it!

Easter 2015

The Easter bunny found us again this year at Grandma Jackie's and left us lots of fun stuff.  My basket was hidden behind the TV, while Lily's was stuffed in the front closet.  We enjoyed mass at Grandma's church and then headed back to Grandma's for the annual Easter egg hunt (which was indoors yet again) and a yummy Easter feast. We always look forward to this day and the good times we have with our family.  Minus the dressing up (which Lily would strongly disagree with me) and lack of sunshine it was a perfect day!!!

Spring Break 2015

This year we have a different Spring Break than Mom so we convinced Titi Nery and Uncle Choo-Choo to head North to take care of their favorite little people for the week.  We filled our week with art projects, ice cream, nature walks, ice cream, bike rides, ice cream, visits to the park, ice cream, shopping, ice cream, dinners out, ice cream, and a movie with popcorn and M&M's.  Our yard is now tastefully decorated with Easter eggs and bird houses.  Our bikes have put on mile after mile, and we've discovered every last inch of the woods behind our house.  We've organized Titi Nery's cell phone and iPad and taught Uncle Choo-Choo the fastest way to get from point A to point B in Mequon.  We are definitely worn out, but would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
