Christmas Eve 2008

We started out the day just relaxing, with me in my robe, and Lily in her pajamas. After a long morning nap we had errands to run with mom, and then once dad got home from work the fun began. We headed over to the Deers' house for dinner and a gift exchange. It was as if things were planned just for us. They had our favorite dinner, manicotti, and they had stairs, which we both love to climb. Payton had Lily's name in the gift exchange, and she absolutely loved her Wonder Pets. Braden had my name, and I got my first Big Wheel. Daddy has to put it together yet, but I'm pretty excited to take a spin on it. We even got to stay up late and play with Jackson and Payton which was a ton of fun!

ASU Basketball Game

Daddy got us tickets to the ASU men's basketball game this afternoon. It has been awhile since we've been to a basketball game, and boy was it fun. We clapped a lot, and we even got in some dancing while the band played.

Monday Night Football

Lily here! I don't know how many of you can remember what you were doing on November 16th, but I sure do. I was cheering on the Green Bay Packers as they annihilated the Chicago Bears. Well, I'm ready to do it again, and I have my gear on this time (and no comments on Favre, I didn't jump off the bandwagon just because he went to the Jets). Ryan isn't cool enough to have any Bears gear so I guess that is one more plus for the Packers! GO PACK GO!!!

8-6

I have regained the lead. It is now 8-6. Today while hanging upside down, mom noticed some new teeth in my mouth. 1-2-3...that's right three new teeth. I guess that explains the grumpiness.

No More Bottles

Today we said good-bye to our bottles forever. We were only allowed to have a nighttime bottle since right before we turned one. Mom's rules, not ours, in case you're wondering. We were quickly supposed to lose our nighttime bottle as well, but then we postponed the inevitable by getting sick. The doctor was worried about dehydration so he said keep us on our bottles since we were comfortable with them and taking in good amounts of liquid. Well, we stayed sick for as long as possible (we're entering week 8), but mom and dad decided that Christmas break was it, we were losing our nighttime bottles. The result, not so bad...at least for tonight that is.

The Life of 13 Month Old Twins

We have been enjoying ourselves in our 13th month of life, and here are just a few things to prove that our world is so much fun!

We forgot to post our AquaDoodle picture. This thing is like magic and we love it! It is great for taking a quick water break too...just suck on the pen!

Dad is getting us ready for the baseball season a little early this year. I have this Cubs hat that finally fits me, but Lily seems to enjoy wearing it a little bit more than I do.

We love to walk, or should we say ride, around our neighborhood at night and check out all of the Christmas lights. There are so many streets to explore that we're probably going to be pretty busy for awhile.

Apparently they make a little thing called locks, for kids who like to open cupboard doors. Whoever invented those is silly; however, mom and dad rushed to install them on our cupboards once we started pulling out pots and pans. They were nice enough to leave one cupboard open though, and we love playing with all of the stuff in it. Sometimes we even empty it out and then climb inside the cupboard.

Lily here! For those of you who didn't know, mommy was a cheerleader in college. I decided I wanted to be just like her so I'm working on perfecting my form while doing a chair lift. I think it looks pretty good! Daddy needs to lock out his elbow though!

Zoo Lights

We have been in awe of Christmas lights lately so mom and dad decided to take us to Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo tonight. While there, we saw a talking giraffe and thousands and thousands of lights. They even had a light show set to Christmas music that was so cool. Most of the animals were sleeping, but we did sneak a peek of the zebras, flamingos, and otters. It was tons of fun and we were able to get all bundled up for the cold weather. I'm sure many of you think we're crazy since it was only in the 40's, but for us that is freezing!

Rhinoceros and monkeys hanging in the tree.

Christmas Party

We went to a Christmas party at the Gooding's house tonight and boy was it fun. You should have seen the snowmen they had, and Lily and I made sure to run around and find each and every one of them. There were tons of kids there too including Braden, Payton, Jackson, Kaitlyn, and Jake. They had a huge backyard too with a train that was all lit up. We were so tired when we finally left, but we made sure to stay awake and check out all of the houses on their street. We've never seen so many lights!

Cookie Party

Uncle Larry and Aunt Pam had a cookie decorating party today just for us kids. It was tons of fun, and the frosting sure did taste good. Lily got to decorate a candy cane cookie with dad and I decorated a snowman with Grandpa Rivera. I think they turned out pretty good.

St. Nick's Day

We woke up this morning to a breakfast of pancakes and bacon, and then daddy pointed out that we had something in our stockings. Mommy told us St. Nick had come while we were sleeping, and he brought us cool Christmas pajamas. Mommy said he usually brings candy, but he must have known we were too young to eat candy.

Visiting Santa

We were pretty excited this morning because mom and Grandma Williams said we were going to see Santa, whoever that is?!? So off we went to the Superstition Springs Mall to meet up with our friends Donna, Landen, and Alyssa. Donna's mom and niece, Emma, met us there as well. Well, let me tell you, and Lily agrees, that Santa isn't so exciting. He scared us to death, but mom made us get our picture taken with him anyway. What's up with that??? Afterwards mom did take us to see the puppies at the pet store and then for lunch at Chick-fil-A so that kind of made up for the picture with the scary man in the red suit, but we may be traumatized for life. We heard the same guy is bringing us presents for Christmas too...Yikes!

Popsicles

We finally had to get our 12 month shots today, even though we are already 13 months old. Dr. Mike said we were both healthy enough to get them although we aren't out of the woods yet. Both of us still had fluid in our ears, although no infection. We have to go back in a month to have our ears rechecked and get a flu booster shot. Lily also got yummy medicine for a sinus infection. She still has a pretty loud cough and runny nose after almost a month so Dr. Mike decided it was time to give her the good stuff. We had to get weighed again too and I came in at 25 pounds 4 ounces and Lily was 21 pounds 10 ounces (with clothes on) so we gained some weight in a little over a week. I think we can thank our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for that. Overall the doctor's office wasn't too bad. The shots hurt and all, but mommy and daddy gave us coconut popsicles when we got home which were so good.
