10 years...
Mom always says that their are many reasons to celebrate, and anniversaries are one of the things that top the list. Today we mark 10 years...the 10 year anniversary of our Grandpa's death. While this isn't something that one would typically celebrate, Mom has made sure that we are going to commemorate all things Grandpa Wayne today. A few of the things on the agenda include talking a long walk with Wrigley, whistling to the cardinals in our yard, eating lots of ice cream, and having a juicy steak for dinner...all things he would have loved! Who knows, we may be able to squeeze in a documentary on the history channel as well if there is time!!! We're sure a few tears will be shed along the way, but we know it is okay to be sad and to miss you; after all we wish Grandpa could be here doing all these fun things with us. We also know that it is okay to smile and be happy, because we have no doubt that Grandpa loves us and that he'd want us to enjoy life just as much as he did!

Twice the Fun
Today we celebrated the birthdays of Marc (4) and Landon (1). It was a superhero theme so we got decked out in some cool new t-shirts which made us feel invincible! Not that we ever need a reason to party, but two birthdays to celebrate in one day is twice the fun which makes it even better!!!
5-2
We've waited a long time for this moment (since last November to be exact), but I can now say I've lost 5 teeth. I am holding on to a strong lead, and now I just need my teeth to grow back in a little faster.

Book Character Day
We had to dress as one of our favorite book characters at school today. I chose Flint Lockwood from Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and Lily was Junie B. Jones. We made a few minor modifcations to achieve the look (like Lily wearing leggings due to the fact is was freezing outside), but were pretty successfully right down to Steve the monkey who sat on my shoulder.

First Grade Concert
Tonight we were singers, we were dancers, and Lily even dabbled in being a musician for a bit. Our first grade concert is in the books and we successfully made it through every song without a hitch.

Little Not So Irish Leprechauns
Today we celebrated St. Patrick's Day, and although no leprechauns found their way into our house, they did manage to get into our school. My classroom was a mess, and Lily said the toilets in her bathroom were filled with purple and green water and there were green sparkles everywhere. The leprechauns surprised us with candy coins and erasers too. We may not have a lick of Irish in our blood, but that isn't going to stop us from enjoying St. Patrick's Day!!!

Ditto
Just like expected, today was similar to yesterday. Now that we are so old and mature (according to us at least) we are able to go for bike rides that extend past our driveway. We take full advantage of this whenever the weather goes above 50 degrees and Wrigley always enjoys it because he gets to walk along with us. After our bike ride we dug deeper into the garage and found tennis racquets, my skateboard, and my new hockey net and sticks Wrigley meanwhile found the absolute last pile of snow at the end of the driveway and rolled and rolled until he was soaked and covered in mud. We always love the first warm up after Winter since we get to pull out so many things that we haven't seen in months. I learned quickly on the skateboard today, but joked with Mom that I should have worn a chest and hand pads as well! Hockey was fun too as I played against Mom and Lily, and I was in the lead until I literally ran face first into a tree. The pain and cuts put an end to our fun, but at least I can say I went out with a bang here in our world!

Weekend Fun!
With the weather finally warming up and the sun making an appearance we were excited for the weekend to start! Wrigley is trying to hold onto every last inch of snow as one of his favorite things to do is roll around in it, but we are itching for Spring and welcome this warm up with open arms. We started our weekend by enjoying the school carnival. We were on a fairly tight leash since Mom was on her own with us for this crazy crowded event, but we managed to see lots of our friends and enjoy all of the fun games the carnival had to offer. Today, we took pleasure in just being outside. After painting a bit, we dusted off our bikes and hit the road. We capped off the day with a birthday party at Splash, which was perfect because you all know how much we LOVE to swim!!! With warmer temperatures expected tomorrow I'm sure it will be a repeat of today as we know Mother Nature is only teasing us and we need to appreciate it while we can!
