Ryan's April School Art

The themes this month included rabbits, Easter, our Earth, and flowers. We even built our own greenhouse and we are anxiously awaiting the growth of our beans. We learned about the life cycle of a dandelion, which just happens to be one of our favorite flowers. We also made chocolate pudding bunnies, which smelled wonderful, but unfortunately we had to mix it with glue so we couldn't eat them. We're just hopping along here in 3K!

183 Days of 4

We have been 4 years old for 183 days now and I think it is pretty safe to say that we have enjoyed each and every day. Don't get me wrong, there were a few days that weren't as good as others, but we survived them all which is an accomplishment in itself, and we can't wait to see what the next 183 days has in store for us (note the one extra day thanks to the Leap Year for us to enjoy). Mom of course broke out her camera for the big 4 1/2, but other than that it was just another typical day here in our world!

Two Little Monkeys

A few weeks ago while hanging out with Grandma Jackie the topic of coconuts came up. Don't ask me why we were discussing coconuts, because honestly I have no idea, but after learning we'd never seen a real coconut, Grandma decided we needed to buy one. That is much easier said than done though. This week, after searching many stores, Mom succeeded and found one at Pete's Market on the South side. It turned out to not be a very good coconut taste wise, but it was a coconut none the less and we had fun watching Daddy "slam" it with a hammer. Now we can say we've seen a REAL coconut, and everyone can rest easier here in our world!

Put Me In The Zoo

Since our dad was busy today, we decided to take a special trip to the zoo with our friends, Jack, Peter, and Nora. It turns out their dad was busy too so things worked out perfectly, and we got to squeeze into their minivan which made it all the more fun! We even managed to fit Elmer the Elephant in the car since Lily got to take him home from school with her on Thursday. We thought he might like to tag along and visit some of his family. I'm not sure who was more excited about that, Elmer or me?!?! We didn't manage to see my favorite animal since I answered Mom by saying "everything" when she asked, but I guess that just means we'll have to head back to the zoo soon!

Rhinosaur

Rhinosaur, Rhinosaur.

He's a little dinosaur.

Watch him climb up a tree. Watch him dance next to me.

Look out! Here comes the Rhinosaur!

This is a song that Dad started singing to me a few years ago. With Lily's help it has evolved over the years, and after today, Mom felt it was appropriate to share it with the rest of the world!

While Mom was busy pulling weeds I was up to my typical crazy stunts. This time it involved climbing a tree. Mom had caught me climbing the same tree a few weeks ago and warned me on just how dangerous it was, but I couldn't help myself so up I went. I had Lily there to watch me anyway so I was good in my mind. The only mistake I made was yelling for Mom so she could watch me...I kind of forgot she didn't want me climbing the tree to begin with. She wasn't too mad in the end, but she insisted on taking my picture so that I could remember how fun it was since she said I wouldn't be climbing anymore trees by myself for awhile. Look out! Here comes the Rhinosaur!

Painted Toes

To be blessed with a twin sister that is a princess like I was has its advantages. After all, she owns more nail polish than any other four year old I know, and her collection just happens to include my favorite color, orange. We knew that if we pushed Mom hard enough eventually she would paint my nails, or at least my toenails that is. Tonight was my lucky night, and although I didn't get the sparkly glitter top coat like Lily, I am still one happy little boy.

Easter Weekend

What a whirlwind of a weekend! It started with a little baking. While cracking eggs we discovered something crazy...twins (two yolks in one egg)! We thought it was one of the coolest things ever and I of all people insisted that Mom take a picture. Whenever these particular words come out of my mouth Mom happily obliges, and for some reason this seemed to happen a lot this weekend!?!? Next, we dyed Easter eggs, but not after another quick picture of me in my awesome white shirt! Shortly after starting, I insisted on taking off my awesome white shirt so it wouldn't get dirty, and Lily followed suit by taking off her shirt as well. Silly Lily! All of this hard work led up to one of our favorite holidays, Easter. Immediately upon waking up this morning I headed downstairs to find my Easter basket. Lily had a tougher time finding hers, but thanks to my good eyes we were successful. The chocolate bunnies were a hit, and even more so once Dad said we could take a bite out of them before breakfast. I crushed the ears on mine, while Lily took care of a foot on hers. Then it was on to solo picture number three of me and my new Bumble Bee Transformer! After breakfast we headed up to Green Bay to celebrate with our cousins. We patiently waited for everyone to arrive so the egg hunt could begin, but we couldn't help but peek out the windows for eggs a few times and I accidentally ran around the house once while getting my picture taken by Grandma Jackie. After one last solo picture requested by yours truly, Grandma gave the green light and I was off and running all over the yard with Lily taking her time to make sure she didn't miss an egg. We loved every minute of the day and cannot wait for the next fun holiday here in our world!

Easter Crosses

These are the Easter crosses we made at school.  Mom proudly displayed them on our dining room mirror.

Further Testing

After battling a kidney infection, Dr. Hagerman decided I needed to go to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for some tests to determine if anything was wrong with my insides. The first test, an ultrasound, was a piece of cake. Mommy had told me she had lots of them done when we were in her tummy so I wasn't worried. It was pretty cool watching the TV and seeing all of my organs. Good to know everything is there! The second test, a Voiding Cystourethrogram or VCUG as I like to call it because I can't pronounce those big words wasn't quite so easy. The only good thing about it was that I got to wear a hospital gown, and I love just about anything that resembles a dress. Good news is both tests came back normal so hopefully there will be no more infections or testing for me here in our world!

Boy vs. Girl

Now that we're a bit older and wiser Mom has let us have some say as to how we can decorate our rooms. I being ALL BOY, went with a sports theme. Dad's recent discovery of his old Cubs and Bears pennants was "awesome" as I like to say, and Mom decided to buy a Marquette pennant for me so we could complete the look. We're still putting the finishing touches on the room, but today's little addition makes this tough rhinoceros pretty happy. Lily on the other hand, being quite the little princess, has chosen a more girly theme for her room. There is still quite a bit to be done in her room, but Mom and Dad found a steal this weekend in a princess vanity that Lily adores. As soon as Dad had it put together Lily was organizing her things, and doing her hair. I'll admit I did check myself out in the mirror a few times, but we could not be more different here in our world!
