It is officially one week until school begins and we are making the most of every single day. It has been a beautiful summer here so we thought we'd enjoy the beach one last time before the temperatures take a nose dive (which in Wisconsin could be any day). Today's adventure led us not too far from home to Tietjen Beach at Doctors Park in Fox Point. We've been to this park before to play on the swing set, but have never ventured down to the beach. Just getting there was fun since you have to walk through the woods. You can hear the waves all the way down, but don't see them until you reach the bottom of the hill which makes it all the more exciting. We had a blast making a sand castle, collecting rocks, and burying our feet in the sand. Mom quickly packed a lunch for us before leaving so we enjoyed a picnic on the beach too! We sure could get used to being beach bums here in our world!

Busy Bees
This weekend was action packed and filled with family (aka Grandma Jackie) and friends (aka The Lard Family). We accomplished a lot in a short time thanks to Grandma's help and then we kicked back and relaxed today enjoying pizza on the grill with our friends. Our garden is coming along and this weekend we enjoyed corn, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Mom picked some of the carrots too, and although itty bitty, they sure were tasty! Our pumpkins are growing too and should be ready in time for Halloween! Only one week of summer fun left and then we begin on a whole new adventure here in our world...school!

If You're Happy and You Know It...
Tonight was dance recital number two for me, and I must say, I still love the stage. I always manage to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of people there to WATCH ME; and I seem to forget that I'm there to dance, but when I do remember a move I give it everything I've got! Tonight's performance included routines to Somewhere Over the Rainbow and If You're Happy and You Know It. Ms. Lindsey bought us each a new tutu and a headband this time. I was praying for pink all week, but blue with rainbow flowers is good as well! Ryan gave me flowers after the performance and along with the one Ms. Lindsey gave me I have quite the bouquet at home. Ryan worked on his photography skills while I was busy dancing, and afterwards he gave my headband a go. We keep trying to tell him that boys can do ballet too, but I don't think he is convinced. My next adventure here in our world is dance lessons at Ms. Lindsey's actual studio. I have all school year to prepare for my next performance so hopefully I'll remember a few more moves next time! If you're happy and you know it....DO BALLET!

Fun Up North
We headed up to the cottage to enjoy one of our last weekends of summer before school starts. We always manage to have a good time Up North, and this time was no exception. With rain predicted for Saturday we got in some fishing as soon as we arrived on Friday. Of course the weatherman was wrong yet again, and Saturday was picture perfect. No complaints here though because that just meant more fun for us. After cooking breakfast we headed out to do some more fishing. We couldn't get our poles in the water fast enough for the fish which made it all the more fun! On Saturday, we also made time for cruising in the Jeep and of course a visit to the candy store. We didn't make it there last time we were up so we decided we deserved two treats...a lollipop and ice cream! This made us and our bellies quite happy here in our world!

Another Harvest
Our garden has taken off better than we could have ever expected. They only seed that didn't take was the watermelon, which we were a little bummed about. We got over it pretty quick though once everything else started growing. Today's harvest included tomatoes, jalapenos, basil, green peppers, and zucchini. We also discovered that we are getting cucumbers and corn!!! We look forward to checking out our garden every day to see what we can harvest and to see what surprises might just pop up here in our world!
