Corn Syrup Paintings

Mom is always looking for new things for us to do, and since we are fascinated by fish and mesmerized by painting today we used corn syrup to paint fish. The best of both worlds! Mom drew us these cool fish and we did the rest. Nemo and Jack (what we named our fish) are looking good here in our world!

Easter 2011

The Easter Bunny sure was good to us again this year. After waking up we didn't have much time to find our baskets because we had to get to church, but the Easter Bunny was silly and hid them in our coat closet. Since it is still so darn cold here we had to wear coats to church so we found them super fast. After church we were finally able to go through our baskets. Lily loved her new princess jammies and I loved my slinky! We had a few other favorites too like Lily's Pinkalicious book and my dolphin water game. Then it was onto Grandma Jackie's house for the annual egg hunt. We love the egg hunt and started searching as soon as we jumped out of the car. Mom and Dad had to round us up and get us inside so we could wait for our cousins. Once the hunt began I took off running. Lily took her time and helped me out along the way since I missed a few of my eggs. In the end we each had 16 eggs filled with fun stuff like money, candy, and this year's favorite, Squinkies. Grandma also surprised each of us with Easter bags filled with even more goodies. We got Jibbitz for our Crocs, race cars, a princess bell for Lily's bicycle, and silly putty. After a long day we were pretty tired, but we still managed to stay awake for half the ride home talking about all of the excitement from the day. We finally managed to fall asleep and we both literally ran for our beds once we got home. We hope your day was filled with as much fun and family as ours was. Happy Easter from our world!

Busy Little Bees

The Easter Bunny is coming and we are nowhere near ready so today, on the day before Easter, we are dying eggs and making art. It is also another day of questions since we are starting to understand holidays more and more. Lily wants to know what color the Easter Bunny is and I'm curious as to whether he hides our baskets inside or outside. Guess I'll need to wait until morning to find out the answer to that one. Well, we better hop to it if we're going to be ready for what is sure to be a fun filled day tomorrow.

Tiny Dancer

Today was the big day, the day I've been practicing for for the last 10 weeks...my first dance recital. It must have been a really big deal because Gigi, Pop Pop, and Grandma Jackie all drove in to see me! Mom was a tad bit worried I wouldn't deliver, but deliver I did! I showed everyone how I stretch before class and I made sure to yell out "I love you Mommy" loud enough for all to hear. When it came time for my class to perform I was so excited that I forgot to do the moves right away. After I got going though I pointed my toes, and twirled and twirled and twirled right out of line. I just kept twirling, so much so that I fell over. I enjoyed the spotlight though and jumped right back up to finish strong with a big "meow" to end my "Copy Cat" performance. Afterwards my teacher, Ms. Lindsey, gave me a yellow tulip. I graciously handed this off to my brother (the official photographer) though after I saw the pink Lily from Gigi and the purple flowers from Daddy. It is official, I am a ballerina here in our world!

Lily and the Elephants

Daddy and I spent a rainy day at zoo class today learning all about elephants. We did so many projects and even watched a movie. Since it was raining the elephants couldn't come outside so our teachers decided to take us inside. It was so amazing. We were up close and personal with them, and by up close I mean like a few feet away. The elephants showed off for us too by waving and wiggling their ears. The most interesting thing I learned in class though was that elephants not only eat apples and carrots, but they love bananas too! I was just fascinated by that fact and had to share it with Mom as soon as I saw her. It was a great day, and now I'm getting excited for Hippo class in June!

Such A Tease

After a looooooooooooooooong winter, Mother Nature delivered an 80+ degree day today. We were outside from nearly sun up to sun down playing with every toy we could pull out of our garage. Mom even hung the swings again so that we could put our swing set to good use. Mom had to strip us down to our underwear for nap since we were so muddy, and the minute we woke up we both ran out the back door barefoot and in our undies to swing some more. Don't get us wrong we love snowmen and sledding, but nothing beats a warm, sunny day. There is one problem with all of this though...tomorrow it is only supposed to reach 55 degrees. Why oh why does Mother Nature have to be such a tease?

Little Raisins

We are moving on up in our world, at least in regards to swimming that is. Gino came in today and invited Lily and I to join the next level swim class after ours was done so that we could try it out. The big difference between the two classes is NO PARENTS ALLOWED! I wasn't very keen on this, and did escape once into Mom's arms. After a lot of sweet talking on Mom's part, I did get back into the water, but not without hesitation. Once in, I realized I should have hesitated a bit longer, because Gino had Mom leave...ahhhh! All the while I was fighting to get out, Lily was having a grand old time floating, kicking, and getting her face wet. I will admit, things did get a little better after Mom left. I decided to just give in and float away. I guess we did okay because Gino officially decided we are ready to move up to the next level. After an hour and a half in the water though we were some tired little raisins who just wanted to head home!

We are...

Just in case you forget who we are (not that that would ever happen) we made new name plaques for our bedroom doors today with Mom. She made us spell out our names and put the letters in the correct order. Good thing we know how to spell our names or who knows what you'd call us!?!

Baby Marc

Our newest cousin entered the world in the early morning on March 29, and today we had the pleasure of meeting him. We are so excited to have a baby cousin so that we can teach him all sorts of cool things. I've decided that I am going to teach him how to make silly faces and how to climb walls. Lily wants to teach him how to scoop ice cream and how to chew. All very important skills in life! Welcome to our world Baby Marc!
