Friday Night Fish Fry

Everyone in Wisconsin takes part in Friday Night Fish Fries so we thought we'd give it a shot while visiting Grandma Jackie.  We have one word for you...yummy!

Lily's First Haircut

Ryan has experienced Marco, Emilio, and Boris; and now I have experienced Sarah, whom I affectionately call the Haircut Lady. Yes, today I had my first haircut. After constantly pushing my hair aside so that I could simply see, Mom decided it was time. I of course asked for a lollipop the minute I sat down, but I was forced to wait until she was done. I was a big girl throughout the process though, sitting in my own chair, and combing my hair when she was done. In the end I earned my lollipop, and even got to take one home for Ryan. My hair doesn't look all that much different (see the before picture above), but the important thing is I can see again which is a good thing considering I'm constantly on the move in our world!

Frosty the Snowman

Today, we were finally able to make a snowman. We waited patiently all winter for what Mom called a "wet snow" and we finally got it overnight. We were so excited to make a new friend, whom we appropriately named Frosty. If our Frosty is anything like he is in the book, we need to play with him before he melts. So we made sure to get in a quick game of peek-a-boo today. Thumpety-thump-thump look at us go in our world!

Betty Brinn Children's Museum

We had a busy weekend with Uncle Zee visiting, Mom and Lily shopping, and Daddy and I getting haircuts so we decided to end it on another fun note and we headed to the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. We spent about two hours touching every possible thing inside that place and had so much fun that Mom and Dad had to literally drag Lily out kicking and screaming (I think she was mad that she couldn't take the giant purple slide home). The pictures pretty much sum up the experience and we wish we could go back tomorrow. We know that won't happen, but the good news is we are members there so we can go whenever we want for free! We just keep finding new ways to have fun in our world!

Cedarburg Winter Festival

We celebrated Valentine's Day by heading to Cedarburg for their Winter Festival. We couldn't say no when we found out they had an all you can eat pancake breakfast. Afterwards we strolled the streets looking at all of the different ice sculptures while we enjoyed some homemade kettle corn and hot chocolate. Life doesn't get much better than that. They had an Easter egg hunt too, but we move pretty slow in the snow so we didn't get very many eggs. We had fun though and enjoyed the fresh air. It's been a Happy Valentine's Day in our world!

Silly Faces

As many of you know I am the serious twin and I hate having my picture taken. Tonight that all changed because of one silly looking frog I saw on one of my toys. I thought he was making funny faces so I decided to make a few of my own and Lily followed suit. I also felt that Daddy needed to see my silly face so I asked Mom to take my picture so that she could send it to him immediately. Just living up to our nicknames here in our world!

Sledding With Daddy

Daddy was able to sneak away for a bit today to take us sledding in our yard. After about a foot of fresh snow we were begging to get outside and play and we got our wish! One hour of fun, one lost glove, and a face plant later we headed inside for some hot chocolate. We're thinking we may just keep asking to go outside so we can get the hot chocolate afterwards. Yummy! We're still enjoying winter in our world!

Dad's Birthday Weekend

We got a big dose of Daddy this weekend. It was his birthday on Friday and he wanted some rest and relaxation so we headed up to the cottage to do a whole lot of nothing. We had a blast opening presents, blowing out his candles, and licking the frosting off of the candles. We have a new favorite now too...spice cake. Grandma Jackie brought some new dress up clothes along to keep us entertained and Wrigley spent some quality time on the ice with Mom playing ball. It was a great weekend although we can never escape without a few minor mishaps. Wrigley broke a nail off and had to have a bandage on for a little while so he didn't get blood everywhere, and we almost didn't make it home when Daddy accidentally left the keys in the car killing the battery. Not that we wouldn't have minded a few more days with Daddy, but thank goodness for AAA. We love the cottage in our world!
