6 Months Old

We are six months old today and have reached our 100th post on this blog! Either we like to talk a lot or our lives are pretty exciting. Seriously though, can you believe that we are already half way to our first birthday?!? It was another month of many new adventures. So many that we aren't even sure where to begin. As for growth, we go to the doctor next Tuesday so we'll have our official measurements for you then. We have started eating oatmeal and rice cereal with bananas. We are a little uncertain if we like bananas, but it is food so we'll eat it, after all it is what helps us get big and strong. Lily is finishing up with her 3-6 month clothes and is wearing mostly 6-9 month outfits. Mom has finally retired all of my 3-6 month clothes, and I am wearing all 6-9 month clothes. We have definitely gotten stronger in the last month. We are sitting up all by ourselves and standing with assistance (someone holding onto our hands or us holding onto something). Lily and I agree that standing is the most fun since we can see so much more! Both of us are pushing ourselves with our feet whether we are on our tummies or our backs. We tend to go in circles, but we'll figure out how to go in a straight line soon. We love to laugh, with Wrigley being our main form of entertainment. Who would have thought that a dog walking by could be so funny. We are also imitating mommy and daddy a lot from sticking out our tongues, to cooing, to blowing raspberries. Our big events for the month included our baptism and running in Pat's Run. Who knows what is in store for us next month, but you should come and join us!

Mommy and daddy claim that we may be the happiest kids on earth! There really isn't anything to get upset about though, unless you don't feed us fast enough!

Polka Dots

This is the latest addition to our nursery - polka dots!. Mommy bought these way back in the beginning of March, but we are just getting around to showing them to you now. We covered an entire wall with them and we love to lay in our cribs and look at all of the different colors.

Sitting Up!

We can finally sit up on our own. Don't get us wrong, we do fall after awhile, but we are getting pretty good. I can stay up a little longer than Lily, but she is getting stronger and stronger every day! All of these new positions are fun, and give us a whole new perspective on the world.

Breakfast with Grandma

Grandma Williams and Grandma Betty had to go back to Green Bay today so we decided to go out for breakfast at The Coffee Shop and enjoy the morning with them. We were eyeing their food during breakfast just hoping they'd give us some, but I guess we're too little. Next time we see them though we may just have to sneak something off of their plates, or just get a plate of our own. We wanted to send a huge thank you to both of them for flying out here for our baptism. We had fun spending time with them as always, even when we were just hanging out at home.

Our Baptism

Lily and I received the Sacrament of Baptism today at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Gilbert. My Godparents, Steve and Claire Williams, and Lily's Godparents, Mollie and Mark Lard, were both unable to make the trip so Uncle Larry stood in for all of them. Thanks Uncle Larry! Father Menegay did a very nice job, but he did pour an awful lot of water on our heads, especially mine. Maybe that makes us more holy?!? Somehow we don't think so. Grandma Williams and Grandma Betty were able to fly out for the weekend to be with us. Good thing too, or we might not have gotten any pictures of our special day.

Standing Together

Since I finally decided to try this standing thing that my brother has been doing for a few weeks now, I decided I should tell you how it is going. I still don't find standing to be as much fun as Ryan thinks it is, but it is pretty cool to look Wrigley in the eyes and to put my feet in the grass. All of that work gets pretty tiring after a while though so I just plop down on my behind and I'm good to go.

Our Limo

Lily and I wanted to show you how we roll. We've been strolling along in our ride for almost 6 months now and decided it was time to share with all of you a picture of our "limo".

Playdate with Landen

Today we went to visit our friend, Landen. He was kind of shy at first, but once he warmed up he was showing us all of his toys and how he drinks from a sippy cup. Maybe someday we'll be able to drink out of a big cup like his. He was fascinated with our bottles, but we wouldn't let him have them. When we were getting our picture taken Landen was looking at us like we were crazy, but his mommy said he isn't used to having younger kids around. We'll definitely have to visit Landen more often and maybe have him over to swim in our pool this summer, and then maybe he won't think we're so crazy. Thanks for hanging out with us Landen!

Ice Cube Popsicles

No teeth yet, but our gums having really been bothering us. To give us some relief mom made us some ice cube popsicles. They sure were cold, but they felt good. To let mom know we liked it we gave her our huge toothless grins!

Pat's Run

Today we ran with daddy in Pat's Run. Daddy explained to us that it was in honor of Pat Tillman, a man who played for ASU and the Arizona Cardinals, who went to war and was killed by friendly fire. Mom and dad even bought us a new stroller with speakers so we could listen to dad's groovy music. It is quite a comfortable stroller and we enjoyed watching all of the people while dad did all of the work. I even took a little snooze during part of the race since we had to get up so early. Hopefully we can make this an annual event.

Here is the ASU athletic training room gang (Uncle Mark, Uncle Frank, dad, Andrea, and Jenn)that ran in the race with us. Way to go gang!

Titi Maria and Uncle Angel

Today we met our Great-Aunt Maria, or Titi Maria as we call her, and Great-Uncle Angel. They are visiting all the way from Illinois. We sure do seem to have a lot of visitors from there so we're thinking we should go visit this place called Illinois sometime soon. Titi Maria and Uncle Angel were great with us, and we have to say they did well feeding us and putting us to sleep. Thanks for the fun toys and clothes too. Hopefully we'll see you again soon!

Talents

Lily and I are discovering new talents every day. Yesterday, Lily discovered that she can hold her bottle all by herself. I say why hold it when you know someone else will hold it for you. Then today while Lily and I were hanging out in her crib, mom picked me up and I was able to stand all by myself in the crib for quite awhile. Mom was happy I didn't know how to pull myself up yet, but just wait. Lily tried to stand too, but she kind of feels the same way I do about holding your own bottle, why stand when someone will just carry you anyway. To each their own.

What a Mess!

Lily and I had a very busy day today so needless to say we were quite hungry by the time we got home. Dad wasn't home yet, so mom took us both on by ourselves. She told us we didn't have to wear our bibs since we were getting baths anyway, but she may have regretted that decision. Of course we had to make it difficult by sticking our hands in our mouths while she was feeding us, but that is what made dinner so great. By the end we were both covered in oatmeal from head to toe, literally! I think I even had some in my diaper. We thought this was a lot of fun, but mom put us in our place and both of us had to take baths. Oh well, at least we got to splash in the water and we smelled good when we were done.
